  • Very quiet and quaint cabin/house only minutes from the lake. It is an older place with a few uneven floors that adds to the charm. Like going to Grandpa's old place. Has new paint, flooring, cabinets,windows etc. Located in the town of Nason. 250 population. Sits in the peninsula of Rend Lake. Close access to the lake and public boat access and the golf club. There is a family style restaurant/convenience store/bait shop approx. 5 minutes away. The town of Mount Vernon is 15 minutes away and has many restaurants and stores including Lowes, Walmart, McDonalds, Applebees, ETC. The cabin has a Queen bed, bunk-bed, sleeper sofa and extra sofa. Sleeps 4 comfortably. Will sleep seven if you use the sleeper sofa and couch. Washer/dryer in unit. Dishes and appliances and full kitchen. Front porch with chairs. BBQ grill and a pavilion and picnic table. Has new Tommy Hilfiger pillows and bedding. Ariel television with 26 channels and WIFI

Great Place To Get Away

Overall this house was a great place to stay for our hunting trip. Although it is dated, the house was cozy, and everything worked as it should except for one of the stove burners. Plenty of places to sleep and the roll-away bed is the comfiest of all. The mattresses on the beds need to be replaced but we didn’t care at the end of the day. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

House was great

We were able to spend time with our Family and house was a great clean place to stay. Hope to rent it again. David the one handling the rental was not diligent with his job so we had to stay somewhere till he messaged us with the code so we could access the house and he was not answering questions when asked so had to contact support

Very nice old house, garbage was overflowing and never picked up. also, the outdoor firepit was very nasty with trash and burnt carpet.

Not entirely accurate.

It was a bit rundown but clean. However the listing shows bunk beds which we thought would be perfect for the kids and made the sleeping arrangements much easier. However when we arrived, there were no bunk beds but a cot. That was okay but if we had known there were no bunk beds we would have booked a different place. The two window air conditioners just were not enough to cool the house, especially in the heat wave. We had to go buy fans.

The perfect get away

I see why they call it the Nason Cabin because that is exactly what it feels like when you enter! From the outside it looks like a house, but on the inside it is cozy and perfect if you just want a few nights away from your own home. We had so much fun at the Nason Cabin and made memories I will never forget. It is in a great location where you can visit local towns like Sesser, Whittington, Benton, Mt. Vernon or even Bonnie for dinner, but then come back to the cabin for a secluded, quiet night in! We will definitely be staying there again in the future.

Grandpa and Grandmas old house with a story

I loved it here!!!!! Sure it’s a older place but there is a lot character. It’s a quiet area, lots of deer, oil rig machines, and it’s country living at its best. I can’t wait for my next visit.

Perfect for the outdoorsman

The house was clean, basic and perfect for our weekend hunting trip. Do not expect anything fancy. Home has uneven floors and doors do not close right.

Quaint cabin near the lake

Loved our stay at this ‘cabin’ near the lake. It’s more like a small house. Everything is neat and tidy. Owners were easy to communicate with. Plenty of space for everyone. Lovely property - we saw deer in the fields both nights we were there. Will definitely stay here again.

Old Guys at the lake.

We had a great time. The place is an old farm house. It’s older and quirky. Floors can be uneven and light switches are in unexpected spots. The front door needs some repair and the sink seems to leak. All of that being said it was perfect for a weekend away from family and obligations. Beds were comfortable and the privacy was assured. Surrounded by a sea of soy crop had a calming effect. The owners were excellent. Check in and out super easy. It’s a simple place to rest and cook, in between trips to the lake.

Secluded, basic and uncleanliness

Had to clean home prior to stay, owner said home was clean upon complaint of walking into home finding. Dirty counters, dirty floors, mice droppings in kitchen drawers, cabinets. Owner basically reported it was cleaned prior to arrival and dismissed complaints of uncleanliness. Would not return.
