The cabin is set high up in a beautiful canyon and the views from the deck and from inside through huge picture windows looking one direction were amazing. A beautiful natural private yard was great. Inside, the kitchen is very well stocked, and we enjoyed the superb carpentry and high wood ceiling, stonework, great windows, and fun eclectic decor . . . And perhaps the most beautiful master bedroom I’ve ever been in with skylights to enjoy the incredibly starry night sky. However, my mother and I were looking to be close to water in a remote location, and this isn’t. There is a very steep set of steps and slope to the creek and you can’t see it from the cabin. For a 90-year-old with a walker and a 68 year old with bad knees, it was impossible to get all the way down to the creek, and difficult to even see it. Fortunately, there’s a lovely porch swing overlooking the gulch (I was able to go very slowly down about 20 steps with a hiking pole) and the creek is flat-out gorgeous, rushing water between mossy banks. The biggest disappointment was that although there’s plenty of privacy, and the surroundings on two sides are natural, the cabin is only about a hundred feet from 3 large modern homes. Everyone was very quiet, but still coming and going, which meant our dogs barked a lot. Aside from neighbors, this place is exceptional, so for guests who are not seeking complete solitude in Mother Nature and stream at your door, it is fabulous. There’s a lake just down the road and lots of hiking or 4-wheeling, Mt Princeton hot springs, and more.
