Cedar Lodge on Lake Michigan

Naubinway - In Anishinaabe, it means "to gaze in wonderment", which is just what you'll feel compelled to do when you see the beauty of the sandy shores of Lake Michigan at to our beautiful, spacious, private lodge! Nestled on 3+ acres in the woods along 250'+ of private, sandy beach and neighboring hundreds of acres of national and state forest land, you'll fall in love with the charm of this custom home with many luxurious amenities including many oversized windows overlooking the beach, vaulted ceilings with skylights, AGA oven/stove, master bedroom jacuzzi and balcony, grand piano, large wrap around deck with propane grill, two 2-person dining tables, 2 rocking chairs, 12 Adirondack chairs with fire pit on the beach, and 4 kayaks (2 2-person tandems and 2 singles)! Whether you want take a swim or kayak the lake, soak up the sun with your toes in the sand or explore the wilderness next door, gaze across the horizon during sunset or see the stars at night, this property has it all!

The national and state forests bordering the property provides a thriving habitat for wildlife including Bears, Wolves, Bobcats, Mountain Lions, Bald Eagles, Sand Hill Cranes, Deer, and various birds which wander past your windows as you take in the spectacular view of the lake. Settle in for the evening by a cozy fire on the beach and listen to the gentle sounds of Lake Michigan lapping at the shore with the sparkling stars above.

There are miles of trails in the area to explore by foot, horseback, snowmobile, or four-wheel ATV. If fishing interests you, fly-fish some of the finest steelhead and brook trout streams anywhere (we support 'catch-and-release' or 'clean-on-the-river').

Just four miles to the east are two restaurants and to the west enjoy the small fishing village of Naubinway where fresh Whitefish is caught/sold daily. If you've not experienced the world famous 'U.P. Pastie', stop by any of the roadside shops who advertise - you are sure to fall in love with this Northern Michigan novelty! Groceries, gas, and antique shops are readily available within a short drive to either Newberry or St. Ignace.

Our other rental, the Cedar Loft, for reference: https://www.vrbo.com/47665
Your stay should in no way be disrupted because of the other rental. Just as they should be respectful of your peace and privacy, please be respectful of theirs. If they are being very loud or disruptive, please let me know so I can mediate. Cedar Lodge guests have full beach access through the path between evergreen trees through the pergola off of the Cedar Lodge deck.

We look forward to welcoming you to our unique experience, and trust that you will come back to visit us year after year!

Had a broken toilet and was unable to contact the property manager. Link in the email did not work and there was nothing at the house. Left a note on the table but they never called.

Absolutely perfect!
We rented this house for a family get together, 7 total adults and 2 kids. It was even more spacious and beautiful than we thought! There was so much room, incredible views, and it was the perfect place to stay! It was very clean, very well organized, and very cozy. We are already talking about when we will be coming back! We had such a wonderful time and can’t thank the hosts enough for such a great trip! :)

Another outstanding experience at the Cedar Lodge
What another incredible stay and experience at the Cedar Lodge. This was our second time here (last in 2021) and I didn't think there was any way that it could have been better than that first visit. But, wow, what an AMAZING time we had once again, all made possible by Nikki's impeccable attention to detail in making the house feel welcoming and ever so comfortable. The upgrades are fantastic and as with the past trip, everything in the house was well stocked, exceptionally clean, again, welcoming. he weather was awesome and we were able to enjoy the lake pretty much every day. It made it hard to do other exploring, but we managed to squeeze in another trip to the Shipwreck Museum, Pictured Rocks, Mackinac Island, and some parasailing from Mackinaw City :). Nikki is phenomenal with communication, both before and during our stay. If I could give 10 stars, I would :). We hope to be back again next year and know we won't be disappointed. Thanks so much again Nikki for sharing your beautiful home with us!! All the best, the Moore family.

Perfect Winter Getaway!
Very nice property! The location is central to many attractions, and the Lodge is awesome. It is right off US2, so no issues with plowed roads. The drive meanders through the woods so that when you are at the Lodge, you feel very secluded and private. The view is incredible! We were about an hour from Kitch-iti-kipi, Tahquamenon Falls, and Munising/Pictured Rocks, and a half hour from St. Ignace, where you can get anything you need. We were a total of 11 and were very comfortable.
