The concrete alleyway from the back is uneven and not as well lit. But the town is a safe one, so security is already felt. The stairs to the upper apts...

「This was a 150+ year old pioneer home, with period-appropriate furnishings. The kitchen has been updated to modern appliances. The bathrooms are also updated. The bedrooms have comfortable beds for getting a good night’s sleep. It is located in a pioneer-era historic area. If you want restaurants nearby, or boutique shopping, forget it. Go with the pioneer atmosphere and experience the location and history. It may give you a whole new outlook about how our ancestors lived.」

「The owner was awesome to work with. There were lots of touches to fit with the name Fairy Bowery. The artwork and decorations put the location in liminal space. The Air Conditioning was able to keep up with Nauvoo summer (in fact we had to scale it back to keep from freezing.) We were there for a family reunion, and all of the family that saw our location and accommodations was jealous. 「The air conditioning was not adequate to keep the temperature comfortable. We ran all the window units the whole time we were there, and I don't think the temperature was ever below 80 degrees. If you were sleeping right under the A/C, it was ok, but otherwise it was pretty sweaty. We were pretty dissatisfied with the temperature. Granted, it was cooler than outside, but it wasn't great.」
