"Convenient hotel location. The rooms are a bit small but ok. Please put a door to separate the bathroom from the room. It’s extremely uncomfortable and weird to not have one and that can be easily fixed. Other than that, all and all good."

"We loved our stay here. This is quite an old hotel and some of the decor was somewhat dated. There is an ongoing refurbishment. However, the bedrooms and bathrooms are well equipped and comfortable. The dining and sitting areas are lovely and have a slightly old world charm. Our bedroom had windows and a balcony overlooking Lake Lucerne which was beautiful. All staff are friendly, attentive and really helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. The location of hotel was also great. There are terraces for eating and drinks outside overlooking the lake. Also just a few steps across the road to sit by or swim in the lake. Transport links excellent, close by front door but also a very pleasant walk into the centre, waterfront or station."

"We stayed at Cascada in Lucerne for 4 nights. Overall, the location was very convenient to the town, trains, buses, and just walking around to basically everything. The hotel was clean and very functional for our family of 3. The rooms were functional but small. Thats ok because most of Europe has small hotel rooms. The amenities in the room were great such as excellent coffee, safe, and toiletries. The issues we had were that the air conditioning made a loud noise every 15 minutes. It was almost like the unit needed servicing and was about to fail. We didnt tell the staff partly because we were so busy out and about that when we remembered it was too late. The other reason was because the staff at the front desk was not very nice or hospitable. I dont know if its the culture of the swiss or this hotel but any time we asked a question it felt like they were bothered by us or irritated that we didnt already know. Being tourists it only made sense that we would ask about local places or how to go about finding a specific spot. We only asked them a question 2 times, once about booking a trip to the alpes, once about a beach. Both times they gave us information sounding sarcastic. The housekeeping staff was nice and friendly. Lastly, the location of our room faced the front but it was too noisy. When we left our balcony door open we can hear cars, the train and construction going on. Overall I would give it a 3 star for making us feel like we dont belong and the noise."

"The staff was super nice at checkin. The furnishings in the lobby and room were IKEA like. My room had a cutout for the elevator, so I think it was a bit smaller, but I heard no noise. The bathroom and water closet were 2 rooms, both quite small. The bed was nice and the Air conditioning worked well. Everything appeared clean, but there were spiderwebs on the ceiling. The has a cold water dispenser and a locked storage facility for luggage that was very nice. Their front desk is always open."

The Lubo - self check-in

"The Lubo is a quick bus ride or walk from the train station. It's not hard to find and the staff at the bar/Cafe downstairs are very helpful. Check in is easy on the phone or the kiosk. The most difficult part is the stairs in the hotel and finding the room. There are a few stairs to get into the hotel and on every floor. Make sure you are not travelling with a million suitcases. I would go scout out your room first. Otherwise, for the price and location, the hotel is great. There's a mini kitchenette that we didn't use and close to everything."
