“I am so thrilled to have found this property …. The views, the quiet, AND our Golden retriever was happy! I grew up close by & my parents live around the corner so it made it easy to visit with them. There is easy access to all my favorite places downtown and the lake, aka Hungry mother Park. I cannot wait to come back and commune with my favorite VA backroads .”

“This was the perfect place for me and my family. The accommodations were as described and the peace and serenity of the view and critters were an added bonus. We enjoyed playing board games and enjoying one anothers company. The only negative was no wifi password was available, but that lent itself well to more family time, so not a major issue and possibly something I overlooked. We loved it and look forward to the next visit!”

“There was some confusion over reservation but host took care if it. Problem with water but host was getting it taken care of. Location was nice. Very steep dirt grassy driveway. Rain and snow could make it difficult if not impossible to to get up. No check in or check out instructions. No large garbage can outside. With all yhis said the host did all he could do to make sure we had what we needed.”

The house was impeccably clean, cozy, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. After long days of property hunting, it was a relief to come back to a relaxing space where we could unwind with our family and enjoy home-cooked meals. “Things I liked about the property: Convenient location to many great fishing location, house old but very clean, quiet, plenty of parking, nice fridge/freezer and kitchen appliances and cooking utensils. Things I wish were better: furniture not comfortable, bed pillows were clean but not comfy, small bathroom, toilet worked but low water pressure. Would stay again and better than a hotel.”

“Our family stayed in this historic property for a celebration of life of family members who passed away recently. The beautiful and spacious front porch with rocking chairs and a swing was an amazing place to share laughter and memories while the kids played in the expansive front lawn. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the neighborhood and surrounding area was quiet and peaceful. The fire pit was enjoyed by all for s'mores and storytelling. “This house has even more space and charm than the photos convey! The house is situated on a nice, quiet street in a lovely area. I loved the roominess, tasteful decor, the screened porch and yard and more. The hosts were communicative and responsive to every need. In fact, they seemed to anticipate every need and desire ahead of time. This has been the best experience and we would stay here again and again!”

“This is a great house to rent if you are looking to ride the Spearhead Pocahontas trail or the Pocahontas Hatfield-McCoy trail. The Spearhead trail is right across the road and the Pocahontas HM connector is about a 10-15 min ride away on pavement. The home itself was very clean & roomy and had everything we needed. The garage was super convenient for fixing machines and just for hanging out in. Backyard has a nice firepit to sit around as well. The area is nice and the kids loved being able to……

“Convenient location just off the main road. Beds were comfortable and the bedding was clean. Plenty of room to hang out between the living room upstairs and the game room downstairs. The dishwasher was out of order. The phone numbers for contacting the property manager didn't work, but after e-mailing, we got a call back and there was no difficulty after that. It would've been nice if towels were provided, but the listing advised that they weren't so we were prepared.”

“This house and property were great! It was in a good location, was easy to find, and was very peaceful and quiet. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We are all over 70, one is 83, so we were not looking to do much other than just be together and relax. We just wanted to get out of town for a couple of nights. Would recommend it to others. M.B.”

“Once we figured out the panel on the front door was the keypad that needed a firm touch when pressing the code, everything else was smooth sailing. Perfectly stocked with everything one would need for a getaway—all you need to bring is food and drinks. The large old Bible was a precious find, and I enjoyed leafing through that. Hey, Google provided tunes of our choosing, and the internet was a lifesaver as cell service is basically nonexistent (at least with my carrier T-Mobile). Nice cabin to……
