Our family (two grandparents, seven children/spouses, and eight grandchildren aged 1-15 years) loved our stay! The home is settled in next to a forest with views of rocky outcrops and a peaceful meadow. There was only one other house anywhere near us. The children had room to run and listen to their echoes to their hearts’ content. The two kitchens were great for serving up food for 17. The hosts provided everything we could have needed. There was plenty of space for everyone whether they wanted to play indoor or outdoor games with others, or a quiet place to read. The home is centered between all of the Black Hills tourist sites. Dalton Lake, a quiet, little lake, is only about 2 miles away. It was beautiful and the trout were large! Ending each day around the fire pit on the huge deck with the family watching the deer in the meadow is a memory I’ll cherish for a long time!

Great stay

This is the second time we have stayed at White Gate Lodge and it did not disappoint.we enjoyed basketball, pickleball and the game room. Sitting by the fire wrapped in warm blankets was so relaxing after a day of 4-wheeling though the beautiful forest.

Loved this house and spacious entertainment area. Bedrooms were small but nice they are back from main entertaining area. We received conflicting information on what house was stocked with and checkout instructions but overall was a great place and would come back again.

Black Hills Gem

This property is a gem. It was easy for our 4 families to relax and spend time with each other. We had a group of 8 adults and 12 kids stay comfortably under one roof. There is so much to do - kids loved the yard and game room. Parents loved the deck, views, hot tub, 2 kitchens and 3, bedroom-attached bathrooms. Can't recommend highly enough.

Reunion of friends to ride ATV, gab, games, graze on home cooked meals and gaze upon God’s amazing creation & animals… room for all of us to do just that…. Well stocked clean spacious place to relax and reconnect… the view from the deck was stunning!

Wonderful stay

We loved everything about this beautiful lodge. Our family enjoyed every inch from the little girl’s play loft, play ground, little bicycles to the teenager’s game room and basketball court. The kitchen and bedrooms easily accommodated our large group. Breakfast on the patio and cozy discussions around the fire in the evening were great. The piano and guitar was a special treat. We will definitely book another vacation here!

Private, beautiful - best view ever

This is not our first stay at White Gate Lodge and it certainly won't be our last. Our family stayed (7 adults, 3 kids) over the 4th of July. We found it to be a great spot to land for our 4-wheeling adventure. There are many trails starting right there, yet it's off the beaten path, so you don't hear others enjoying the trails. The game room was a new addition this year - it entertained young and old alike. My favorite way to start and end the day is on the huge deck. I could sit and look at that view for hours. The house is comfortable, has everything imaginable for cooking and has space for us to spread out. We spent a rainy-day playing games and putting puzzles together. We will be back!

Peaceful

The home was perfect for our family of 18 including fun lofts for grandkids and toys. The 28 deer visiting the yard were fun to watch in the evening. Even with a day of rain we enjoyed time together at the house. So peaceful!
