「This is a cracking flat within a short walk of Dumfries town centre. From the outside, the flats don’t look too inspiring, but it’s clearly been renovated recently and it ’s been done really nicely. The two rooms are pretty much identical doubles, and the living room/kitchen is a good size. Nice views of the river from most rooms, and a lovely small balcony coming off the main living area. Would definitely come back if in the area.」

「A lovely county castle surrounded by Belted Galloway cattle and sheep. The castle grounds have a fruit trees, herbs and vegetables. Tobias is truly a wonderful gentleman and host. He prepared an amazing breakfast both mornings which consisted of local flavors ( haggis, blood pudding, potato cakes, eggs, bacon and sausage). Tobias gave us a tour of the chapel and grand hall with interesting history. Baron James prepared a formal dinner which was also delicious. We are Maxwell descendants by DNA...

「This was the perfect, remote, peaceful getaway. The host was in communication right from the booking and went above and beyond to ensure our holiday was magical. Thoughtful little gifts for our children as it was Christmas and a pack to decorate for New Years. Just wonderful. The barn itself was clean, spacious and fitted with everything you could need. Located in a remote area on a bird reserve was perfect for star gazing and lots of walks. Go prepared with a shop and settle in! The nearest shop...
