Everything you want

House is nicely updated. Beds are comfortable. Screened in back porch is a wonderful space. Loved the fire pit as well. Location is quiet but still close enough to everything else. I would stay here again.

Very nice getaway

Beautiful little home with a very nice, large indoor porch. The pool is very spacious, clean and nice as well. I would stay here again. We gave some recommendations for improvement directly to the owner, so if they follow them there is no reason this is not a 5 star stay.

A wonderful stay at Anchors Away!

We had a wonderful stay at Anchors Away! As expected, we whiled away the majority of our time in the big, airy screened-in porch overlooking the pool and beautiful property. Indoors, the home is comfortably accommodating. We had absolutely no complaints. In fact, before we had even checked out my kids asked if we can come back again next year! Thanks so much!

Cozy and Inviting

This home was very cozy and inviting. I stayed in the enclosed porch pretty much during my stay. Spacious back yard with a pool for summer use. 2 fire pits for families to enjoy or even just one person such as myself. Minutes from downtown where there is a lot to do to keep yourself entertained while in the area. A perfect location and a home away from home. Thank you.

Great vacation in Southwest Michigan

We really enjoyed this property, but had one tiny hiccup. Our favorite part was the large screened back porch and pool area. We also enjoyed playing horseshoes in the yard and the fire pit as well. There are so many great restaurants in New Buffalo and wonderful public beaches. Warren Dunes is just a short drive away as well. We did have an issue one evening with a mouse in our bed, which we brought to the property managements attention the next morning. There was really no resolve just an apology that it happened. We did find evidence of other mice under the kitchen sink as well. We did really enjoy this property even with our little furry friend that joined us one evening.

Great weekend getaway

We had a great girls weekend at Anchors Away! When we weren't by the pool, we were enjoying the gorgeous sunroom. Plenty of space to gather and play games, do crafts, and enjoy each other's company.

Love the area

House was acceptable and as pictured. They weren’t kidding when they said low ceilings on second floor. Just remember to duck! Note 2nd bedroom is also upstairs and low ceilings.

Great for my fam of four!

I want to preface this review with - we are already planning to come back next year. The amenities are great and although not a CLOSE walk to anything - you could if you really wanted to. There were just a few odd things - the grill does not come equipped with a propane tank, so be prepared to buy one. They have pods for the dishwasher and for the laundry, but come with your own all purpose spray for day to day cleaning. If you're planning on using the two twin beds upstairs, they are mattresses on the ground - so if you're over 30, beware. Those with small children - they have hooks on the doors to lock from the inside on the screened in porch. Unfortunately, the hooks are low, so the kids can get to the pool on their own. The security for the pool is low, so be ready to run interference with your toddler a lot. We ended up clipping a life jacket around the hook so he couldn't unhook on his own. we'll plan better next time. Great house, so much fun. The pool was easy to take care of, just had to take a few things out from floating on top. good kitchen, great big fridge and the screened in porch is truly a treat. the furniture is really worn so if you're a germaphobe, be ready to cover some of it so you can enjoy it.

No heater in pool water was too cold for swimming

Who in the Midwest would rent a house with a pool and no heater we couldn’t use the pool because the water was cold first thing that happened was I got a splinter from the railing going into the property The furniture was very uncomfortable in the main living room you sink in the sleeping sofa very uncomfortable chair arm was broken furniture needs to be updated to better than garage sale rejects none of the lights in the living room worked Kitchen supplies are also garage sale items could be updated No shampoo or soap for showers and ran out of toilet paper and garbage bags day 2 called for more and was told no We also ran out of dishwasher pod’s If someone is staying for a full week with 8 people they need more supplies they shouldn’t have to go buy this stuff We have rented a lot of vacation spots and this one needs a lot of work to get up to par

Adorable!

We were so pleasantly surprised with this little cottage. A couple things to note if you are interested in booking. As others have said, the upstairs has a low ceiling. Not a problem for me at 5’6” but I still had to duck getting around the bed upstairs. They have an extra A/C unit for the upstairs but when we arrived it had not been turned on so it took a day to cool it off. No fans were at the cottage so I called Vacasa & the guy on duty brought 2 over. I had to put them together myself but it’s a small price to pay for comfort. But the big surprise is that back porch. It is PERFECT!!! You feel like you are in an old cabin by the lake. The doors to go to the pool seem like they are about to fall off so hopefully the property owner will address that before next season because you truly do live on the porch and out in & by the pool! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pleasant Getaway

The property was very private - surrounded by trees and foliage. The pool was large and clean - such fun for the kids. The house was lovely - very comfortable and well stocked. The service was immediate and pleasant. All in all a great experience worth repeating!

success with Anchors Away

This was a great first time vacation using Vacasa. The house was clean and very well equipped. There was very little that we needed to bring from home aside from personal items. The location was excellent as it was close to the beach, restaurants and downtown New Buffalo.

Fantastic get away!

Anchors Away was perfect for our family get away! We loved the house. Everything was very clean. We felt very comfortable from the moment we stepped in. The yard is very large and we can’t wait to come back in the summer to use the pool and screened in porch. The location is amazing. You can walk to trails and explore nature! There are many restaurants and cute shops a very short drive away. Some things that really made our stay awesome included a washer and dryer, 2 full bathrooms and a nicely stocked kitchen. The family room is large enough with ample seating to play a game or watch a movie! I personally like that the yard is huge and it’s very quiet and private. There were plenty of games to play! There are 2 fire pits in the yard. Don’t forget to check out the beach, it’s beautiful year round. We will be back! Thank You!
