We had a bit of an adventure checking in here. Our first room smelled strongly of mildew and felt more like a generously sized closet than a hotel room since it didn’t have any windows. The staff was very accommodating and quickly moved us to a second room… which unfortunately smelled like bleach so strongly that it felt like we had accidentally walked onto a crime scene cleanup. Attempt number three had plumbing issues, which pretty much completed our grand tour of the hotel’s maintenance department. All that said, I do want to be fair: the hotel itself is actually very nice. The restaurant is excellent, the food was great, and every single staff member we interacted with was friendly, helpful and genuinely tried to solve the problems. So the people and hospitality get high marks. The maintenance side, however, definitely leaves something to be desired. With a little more attention to the rooms and upkeep, this place could easily match the quality of the staff and restaurant.

This hotel is about 1/2 mile (an easy walk) from Bourbon Street. Plenty of restaurants nearby without the non-stop party atmosphere. Just 2-3 blocks to the Streetcar. The hotel is beautiful. 2 bars and a restaurant on the first floor with an additional rooftop pool/bar were a hit with my group. Queen beds (actual queen beds, not a full size) were comfortable. One small complaint is that the rooms are cleaned every 2 days (not every day). This was not a dealbreaker for me but worth mentioning. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Would absolutely stay here again!

The room was clean. FYI…they don’t do housekeeping everyday. You have to request it if you need it. That wasn’t a problem for me but for some it might be. The TV in the room was t a smart tv. For example, no access to Netflix and I couldn’t cast my phone onto the tv. These are minor inconveniences. Valet was really fast and the staff were very pleasant. The lemon drop made my MD was AMAZING!!! We were charged for 2 destination fees, but we could only use one.

Before check-in, the front desk staff (Sean) was very attentive to our requests. My family and I visited New Orleans for a week. We stayed at two hotels for this trip and The Nopsi Hotel exceeded our expectations. From the concierge, front desk staff, bartenders, and housekeeping, I highly recommend The Nopsi for your next stay in The Big Easy!

What would have been a four star review was quickly turned into a five star review thanks to the manager, Alexis/Alexi? I apologize for forgetting your name. I had very small gripes about my room and she compensated me for the inconvenience which I was in no way looking for compensation. I just wanted to relay my small issues, but it was handled so wonderfully that giving this hotel and the staff in the manager of four star instead of a five star would’ve been a crime. The staff overall was wonderful as well thank you for such a wonderful stay. I’ll see y’all next year. ♥️

The room, building and amenities was great. I paid through book.com which cover the cost. During the check out, I was charge for the commentary drinks. It was thirty dollars a piece which was 70 bucks charge. I don't drink. I came for the experience. On the site it said it was paid. So, that was my only problem.

Everything was great with the exception of the guy tall guy with the dreadlocks the dark skinned one at check-in he had a really nasty attitude towards me and my guests but everyone else was warm and welcoming I didn’t want to cause any trouble so I just keep my cool he really needs to be retrain on how to greet guests and he needs to smile more often
