Good central location for the southern half of Manhattan Island. Several subway entries within four-block radius. Amenities good (except in the kitchen -- no soap and no hot pads). Being in the location means 24x7 constant drivers honking horns (a NYC favorite activity) and emergency vehicle sirens which wakes up sleepers unless they are those who can sleep through any noises). The staff here is incredible, and they have to deal with a lot. IF you arrive in town too early to check-in, they will stow your luggave so you can go out walking. Since the building is old, it makes many noises which, when trying to sleep, sounds like someone/something is there in the room with you. BOttom Line: NYC is a great place to visit but absolutely would never want to live in here with the noises and constant traffic jams. Oh, and since the streets have special lanes for bicycles and scooters, those people seem to think they have priority of the streets over pedistrians and motor vehicles, and, they do not have to obey any of the normal driving rules/laws.
