There are some notable historic buildings, including the half-timbered Ford Green Hall built around 1580, which is the oldest house in the city, and the remains of an Anglo-Saxon cross can be seen in the churchyard of St Peter ad Vincula.
Stoke-on-Trent was the name given to the amalgamation of six famous Potteries towns, originally, in 1910, as a County Borough and then, in 1925, a fully-fledged City.
The city has multiple tourist attractions including Alton Towers, Waterworld, Trentham estate and monkey forest, Biddulph grange Garden, the Potteries Museum/Art gallery as well as many more.
Getting Around:
