Solo Traveler

Cleanliness: I retrieved a coffee cup from the cupboard and it was dirty. Grabbed a 2 cup and it was also dirty. I washed my dishes before use to make sure they were clean. Also, the blanket on the bed was either dirty and/or stained. Retrieved an extra blanket from closet and it was also dirty/stained. I did find a blanket that appeared to be clean to use. I did inform the rental company of my findings and received an apology. Safety: Stairwell was pitch black since there were no windows. There are switches to turn on the light which were on a short timer. Needed to have cell phone ready to use for light. I had to shut my window one night due to unsettling noise from another flat (notified company). Also, their was another inconsiderate renter dragging their suitcase down the stairs at 3 am. Location: Close to a lot of great restaurants, farmers market and beach. Booking: There was several steps to complete requesting info on the traveler, mandatory deposit which then encouraged insurance and taking pictures of the rental and sending for the coverage. I am now going to stay only in hotels when I travel solo.
