The town house is located in Biot about three kilometers from the coast in a lovely area between Nice and Antibes. The house was built in 1990 - in a group together with 16 other houses - in a typical Provence style. The housing complex, which is in the immediate vicinity of the town, has its own private shared swimming pool with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean and the old part of Biot.
On the ground floor there is a WC, a large living room with a table for 8, a fireplace and a kitchen with a door leading out to the garden and a covered terrace. The terrace is equipped with garden furniture and a barbeque. The well-equipped kitchen is furnished with a refrigerator, stove and oven, a dish washer and a washing machine. The first floor has 3 bedrooms with sleeping accommodations for 6 persons. There are 2 shower rooms.
Biot and the Surrounding Area
Biot is a small un-spoiled town with charming streets and old, well-preserved houses. There are many cozy restaurants in all price classes. Good shopping possibilities for basic groceries and there are also many shops with local arts and crafts.
The town is known for its ceramics and pottery workshops, glass-blowing and the Fernand Léger Museum. Tennis courts, mini golf and a large dolphinarium are nearby. For the golf enthusiasts, there are many good and well-known golf courses in a range of 30 minutes of driving. The closest one is Golf de Biot which is just a 5 minute drive away.
Biot is very close to everything on the French Riviera. If you have a car, Italy is less than an hour away, Monaco 40 minutes, Nice 20 minutes, Cannes 30 minutes…
And you can imagine how many wonderful Mediterranean beaches that lie between these cities.
The closest beach is a 3 km drive, a nice pebble beach with excellent conditions for swimming. On your way, you will pass Marineland with its dolphin and killer whale shows, a water park with slides which is suitable for Children and the Antibes land amusement park. If you prefer sandy beaches with restaurants and cafes, you should look to either Antibes and Juan Les Pins, which are 15 to 20 minutes away by car. But whatever your preference, all along the coast there are many charming beaches, marinas and hide away with good restaurants and cafes.
There are many art exhibitions and cultural opportunities in the surrounding towns. The Chagall and Matisse Art Museums are in Nice and there is an exhibition of Picasso's ceramic work in Antibes. The Maeght Foundation has an impressive collection of modern art in St. Paul. The exhibition is supplemented by various exhibitions of newer works.
Arriving by plane at the Airport in Nice, the next drive to Biot is about 20 minutes.
High season is in June to September. For those not dependent on these months for their holidays, visiting the area during periods out of season may be a pleasant alternative. The weather is still very good and you stay clear of major crowds of tourists. The weather is warm enough in May, June and September, October to swim in the Mediterranean and have lunch outdoors at the many sidewalk restaurants.
For those who like to visit the region during winter, its only 1.5 hours to the southern alps with resorts like Auron and Isolo 2000. In Grasse, only 45 minutes from the house there are slopes as well. During April its possible to ski in the morning and have dinner at the beach 7 o'clock - the same day :-)
