"We stayed here to celebrate our engagement, but the experience was disappointing overall. While the property itself is nice, the service was atrocious. Staff were consistently unhelpful, dismissive, and seemed poorly trained and apathetic. Housekeeping entered our room twice without knocking and we were in bed naked. When we raised it, we were told to use the “Do Not Disturb” sign—no real apology or accountability. They made it our problem and only half took accountability after we pushed back. This is a pretty serious breach of privacy, that they didn't seem to take seriously. The resort forces guests to use an app for basic requests like water and coffee, which was never explained and is poorly designed. Even worse, requests were marked as completed when nothing was delivered. After 4 p.m., service stops entirely, forcing guests to walk long distances due to the property size to the front desk for basic items. That’s unacceptable - Motels provide better service than this. Housekeeping was inconsistent at best—missing sheets on the bed one night and leaving dirty towels behind. There were a few positives: the grounds are nice, the water slides are fun, and the bartenders were great. But none of that makes up for the lack of basic service and professionalism. We were considering having our wedding at a RIU resort, but after this experience we will be going with a better option with a different resort chain"

"Amazing vacation. The sister hotel next to the palace was renovated and absolutely stunning. But very crowded! The Palace had half the amount of people. Top shelf drinks. A few less food options. But you can go to other hotel for breakfast and lunch. The beach was awesome- different than the white Caribbean we usually go to. But an easy 1 mile walk from point to point and seeing / feeding the monkeys made this trip unforgettable. Take water shoes! We are planning to return with our kids once the palace is renovated. They were starting in May of 2026."

"We had no water 3’times while taking shower- very stressful. They mention a problem that lasted 3 days of our stay. We were offered early check , however it was not possible at last moment. We have to wait approximately 2 hours until we got the master suite. Even though staff was nice, I will not recommend the hotel to friends and family. Definitely there are better choices hotels in the area."

"Ocean view is on the small side, especially shower space. WIFI is not good, it’s hard to find a spot with strong reception. Location is good - right on the beach. Free breakfast is excellent. "
