We had 9 family members in Aruba for a wedding. The accommodations were affordable compared to the resort where the rest of the wedding guests stayed. Unfortunately, Aruba experienced unusually hot - over 95 every day - weather. The air in the house could not keep up with the heat. The dining room and the master bedroom were uncomfortably warm. And the air in 2 bedrooms completely went out. The host did as much as possible but the system just couldn’t keep up. We especially enjoyed the pool and having everyone in the same house was very special.

Great Wedding Event

Selected this property based on accommodation needs for our group. What a perfect fit! Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and the kitchen is very well equipped. Offers both charcoal or gas grill options outside and the perfect pool setting. No need to over pack as there is a full size laundry set onsite. The only downside is it's not really walkable to the beach yet if you're in a group big enough to need this house you've rented at least 1 vehicle. Great little gated community right next to the Palm Beach area and a very short drive to several more great beaches and endless great food. Frank was Johnny on the spot with answers and willingness to accomidate all of our needs. I can't recommend this place enough!

Perfect Aruba Getaway

The home is exactly as advertised and was perfect for our large group. Every room having their own bathroom is a great time saver when traveling with a large party. And the mini grocery store was located right on the corner and easy walk from property. Owners were very responsive to questions and communicated with us through our whole stay. I will recommend this home to everyone!

Could not ask for more.

This was our first time in Aruba. We had 12 people in our party for our annual friends vacation. The villa was very spacious and very clean. We explored all day and hung out in the pool every evening. It was very convenient having a grocery store across the street. The owner was very responsive answered all questions timely. We look forward to returning in the future!!

Great vacation

The property was amazing. Loved the balcony on the second floor, we had massages on that balcony. The pool was perfect. We were all impressed with the cleanliness and the communication of the property manager. Great location, as we spend the day at the Ritz and around Palm Beach. Loved every minute of our stay and we will definitely do it again in the future.

Great Place

Our group of 8 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Merlot Villas. The property was well appointed. Each room having its own ensuite was really appreciated. The king size beds were very comfortable. Having a grocery store just outside of the villa was real handy. Of note, we were welcomed by Ivan who pleasantly explained everything we needed to know. Furthermore, he provided us with cold refreshments which was very much appreciated by all after a very long day of travelling. We would definitely rent a Merlot Villa if we return and highly recommend it.

Merlot

The property was as listed very clean and easy to find. The manager was very helpful and easy to get in contact with. I really had no issues except for a nosey neighbor that was peeking his head over the fence via a ladder asking about the music. We were able to accommodate his request but he insisted on popping back up several times during our visit. Besides him being a slight nuisance the stay was perfect.

The Best Birthday Vacation

This house location was very convenient to our needs. Food market has everything you can possibly need on the corner. 10-15 min walk to the beach. Cabs where there less than 5 min. The cost was good from. $9-12 a trip not bad at all. Safe community. I absolutely enjoyed & loved my stay there.

Great house for large groups

This is a great house for a large group. Each bedroom area had its own bathroom, very nice to not have to share. The water pressure was so -so so you had to time your showers but not having to share was still a great perk. The pool was a generous size and the multiple deck and balcony areas made it easy to spread out and find quiet space. The kitchen was on the small side but we easily made it work and had 2 or 3 "chefs" able to work together for meals. Super convenient was the 2 minute walk to the corner grocery store - there were days we went 2 or 3 times to stock up on beverages and snacks. Quick drive to the mall area and restaurants. The house was one of the cleanest VRBOs I have stayed in! We had an issue with a leaking toilet in the guest house but they were out early the next morning to fix it. Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend.

Superior place, great location, good value

Very large accommodations, plenty of room as not to feel crowded. Pool and lounging area is to die for. Location couldn’t be better, walking distance to Marriott Resort and Palm Beach. Two supermarkets right outside the gate to the villas. Very good security both for getting into the villas and within the home. Will be returning in future.

Loved it!

Merlot Villas was perfect for our group of eight (four couples). We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the amenities of the home. There was a convenient store located close by that helped with our basic needs! The villa itself was lovely and the staff were very responsive to inquiries and requests! Thanks for the hospitality!

Privacy in Paradise

My friends and I loved our stay in Merlot Villas! The property was roomy and felt so secure. We walked to the nearby hotel casinos several nights on our stay and never felt unsafe. It was great having an alarm system as well. It was like a home away from home...a beautiful pool, plenty of outside dining space, a big balcony to relax outside, rooms with bathrooms in each, washer/dryer, and a kitchen stocked w/utensils for our convenience. It was also nice to have a corner store right across the street. We would totally stay again...next time a family trip with the kids!

Great vacation rental!

Traveling as a group of 8 it was nice to each have a king size bed and our own bathrooms! The house was located close to palm beach and was very easy to access groceries, restaurants and all attractions. This was our first time trying a house rental and would definitely do it again. We had a great outdoor area with a pool that was utilized on a daily basis. The property managers were very accommodating and quick to respond to any request we had! I would definitely recommend Merlots Villa's and hope to be back again soon!

It was ok, not the best, not the worst.

The staff that greeted us and that was there each time we had a problem (which was often) were very friendly. We started off with minor issues; only receiving 1 set of keys, no grill brush to clean the grill (and in the hand book it says to return 2 sets of keys and clean the grill or you will be charged). The rental car we were given was horrible. It was completely dented in on 1 side, the passenger side window did not roll down, the radio did not work, the windshield wipers were completely rusted and no GPS. We were told this was the last vehicle they had available. Next we noticed holes in the sheets (looked like burn marks and this is a no smoking villa?), the dryer did not dry our towels after 3 hours so we had to hang them on the line outside (not a relaxing way to spend a vacation) and to top it off a drain in the master bathroom was clogged and caused the sink to leak. After an hour and a half of the plumber fixing the sink (and the smell was horrific) we were finally able to get ready for our day. The house had some other issue but fortunately they were in rooms we were not using. 2 major issues I had was before we came; there is a charge for each additional person over 2 people, we found out a month before arriving that 1 couple would not be able to make it so we let the owner know. He only refunded half of what we were charged for the 2 people. And finally we had a late flight out of Aruba and I sent an email requesting a later checkout;I was told that Ivan would be by to discuss it with me. We had been out for most of that day, I never received any other correspondence regarding the check out and did not see Ivan. On the day we were leaving the cleaning lady arrived at 10:20. Normal checkout isn't until 11am. I was told someone had stopped by the house to discuss it but we were not there....well it is our vacation so why shouldn't we be out? Should we have waited all day for someone to come talk to us when they could've just as easily emailed me back? So in conclusion; this was not the worst but it was also not the best place to stay!
