After a 1,350-foot ascent and a 4.4-mile hike (or 6.6 mile six mile if you get lost...gotta work on that), you arrive at the payoff: a set of bifurcating falls that makes up just part of a series of cataracts that scatter down Table Mountain. They are a sight to behold. And, while nowhere as voluminous or as tall as some of its cousins in the local area -- say Multnomah or Horseshoe Falls across the Columbia River -- it more than makes up for it with its myriad of tendrils plummeting their way down the mountain no more than ten feet in front of you. If you're in the area, and you don't mind a little exercise, a visit to these falls will be well worth your while.
That's Hamilton Mountain on the left and the Table Mountain complex on the right. And, yes, this tree was a protagonist in one of my earlier posts. But it did such a good job, I thought I'd trot it out again.
The two levels of Interstate I-84, east and west-bound along with a railroad bridge appear briefly through the cleft between a pair of mountains on the Oregon side of the Columbia River.

For the price of the hotel room, the rooms are fairly dated and not much better than your average motel/hotel. It doesn’t feel like you’re paying to stay at a resort. What a wonderful getaway stay. The cabin was easy to find, clean, and very welcoming. The backyard is fully fenced, which allowed our puppies to run around and sniff all day.
