Gifford Pinchot National Forest

If you are a fan of the calming effects of waterfalls the Columbia Gorge is where to find your peaceful inner self. Although the Gorge was devastated by fire in 2017 and many iconic waterfalls are still off limits, there are abundant pristine locations still accessible.
Falls Creek Falls is located on the Washington side of the Columbia Gorge North of Carson. It is a 1.7 mile moderate hike to the falls. Continue up the Wind River Hwy. for incredible views of Mt. Saint Helen at McClellen view point. or have lunch in Carson at Backwoods Brewing for delicious pizza and brews.

The location is fantastic for the price. Those reasons alone are why I would stay again. Rooms are clean but outdated and beat up. Our ceiling had multiple large cracks. Service was iffy - front desk did everything they could to ignore us and hope the other guy would help. They were complaining to each other openly. Room service, however, super kind and great. Oliver’s was super kind and great service. Kid friendly space. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

I love this little hotel! Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side, but we weren’t planning to spend much time in our room anyway. It took us about 2 minutes to walk to Climate Pledge Arena for the Torrent game, and about 5 minutes to walk everywhere else we wanted to go. The staff are friendly and helpful and the view is spectacular. The kitchenette is perfect for storing and reheating leftovers. I will always stay here when visiting Seattle!
