Overall- this was a lovely vacation and all worked out well. We really enjoyed ourselves.
The location absolutely can’t be beat. It is far away from the cruise ships, on a beautiful beach, about a block from the yacht club if you want a quick night or day out, snorkeling out the back door, starfish steps from the water and more. Perfect in every way.
The House
The house itself served us well. Two large bedrooms and baths. A full service kitchen, screened in pool, grill, utilitarian bathrooms, lots of TVs, beautiful views and more. Nothing extravagant, but appointed with all the basics.
Management
This is where we encountered a few hiccups. When we arrived, we weren’t expected- so the home was dirty. It was 4:30, so we needed to leave for 3 hours to have it cleaned. By the time we got into the house and settled, the first day was lost. They were kind enough to cover our tab for dinner that night to make up for it. Day 2, we head to the grocery store, load up the fridge, and to our surprise everything melted. The refrigerator died. Ugh! We let the property manager know. Day 3 and 4 random people kept coming to the house to take care of things- one day to manage the pool, one day to spray for insects, etc. All very understandable, but would have been nice to know when to expect them so we could have been out. Then, on our last full day, we got a knock at the door at 10am. Hhmmmm. It was the property manager delivering a new fridge. My kids were still in their jammies and there was an entourage of people. Not a problem- always happy to help- but there was no warning, no asking good timing, etc. It ended u Braking about 2ish hours of helping out on our last day of vacation. (I must say that the local propert manager is a kind, gentle man who is passionate about caring for the properties. But standards are a bit different!)
Bottom line - we had a lovely vacation that I would highly rate but it would be disenguous for me not to mention our few hiccups.
