"I just stayed for one night- visiting family. The family was friendly and also gave me space. My favorite thing was the pond, with many koi fish. My area included a bedroom , bathroom with sauna, and a rec room with a giant tv, treadmill, ping pong table and fooz ball table. The bed was very comfortable and the night was peaceful. I would visit again."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this small apartment conveniently located in downtown Downieville. Great views of the town below and surrounding mountains. The lodging was very clean and comfortable with a quiet atmosphere conducive to relaxation. As previous reviewers have mentioned the driveway up to the house is very steep so make sure you have decent tires and put your car in low gear before heading up the road! I would be happy to stay here again next time I make it to Downieville."

"Great place to crash if you're visiting the river, 10 minutes from Oregon Creek Park, which is an awesome spot to hit with kids. Pretty sparse surroundings and it's deep in the woods, so it's remote and private. Space itself is set up for 2 people, if you bring more people (wouldn't recommend more than 2 adults, 2 kids) you should bring an air mattress and your own bedding. It is a no frills space, so if there are items you consider essential to your world, bring them with you. It does have a powerful air conditioner which we were grateful for at the end of August. We'll be back, proximity to the river and the price can't be beat. Now that we know it's pretty rustic we will pack more essentials and be extra cozy there. "

"Because of the size of our group, we booked the lodge along with the campground, yurt, and the homestead cabin. The set up was marvelous for our family of 43. The beds were comfortable, and spaces were well-equipped. The kitchen was our main selling point. We couldn’t have imagined a better place to prepare and serve food. Inside plus outside seating easily accommodated our large group. The weather was too warm to have a campfire, but the campfire space was an excellent outdoor gathering space. Mark and Trish are fantastic hosts! They responded quickly to restock items and any questions we had. They greeted us warmly and were able to give us pointers to help us thoroughly enjoy our stay. Highly recommended!!!"

"Had a great stay! Worked perfectly for our “needs”. We stayed here the night before our fishing tournament at Bullards Bar. Plenty of room to park both of our boats and tow vehicles. Very nice house. Would definitely stay again, and recommend. The only thing that would have made it better for our situation would have been to have either two adult sized twin or full beds in the room that had bunk beds. But, I’m sure that a family with younger kids would find the bunk beds ideal for their situation."
