"If you stay at the Centrum, keep in mind you are at the epicenter of the downtown area. During the day, it is very busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and we loved how close the location was (with the Green Hat concert hall a block away) and the restaurant. We had an excellent dinner our first night at the hotel. It is close to everything - a walk up the street to the church and botanical gardens, and tons of dining options all around. We were a little surprised by the park across the street - which was well used by families and teens all day and into the night. They were gearing up to paint - so the noise from the park (kids banging on metal xylophone) and the construction was ever present. But again, you are sitting in the hub of downtown Akureyri. Also - you can't pull up to the hotel in the summertime because they close the street. It was a little tricky to figure out how to park and check in, but the hotel was very clear in what to expect upon our arrival."
