With so many swoon-worthy features it's hard to pick a favorite amenity— but the spectacular sweeping view from the oversized deck or the large indoor pool (the best in Deep Creek!) are sure to be contenders. Also in consideration have to be the enormous dining room table, well-appointed game room, and outdoor fireplace and firepit. In the summer, your home's dock slip is just a short drive down the mountain and, come winter, the ski Slopes of Wisp resort are just five minutes away. Plus, Trader's Coffee House, Brenda Pizzeria, Firewater Kitchen, and Ace's Run are right outside the community entrance. Home was large w/ beautiful view. Home was a bit dated. Stove had to be lit w/ a match (Dangerous). Secondary Sink had constant drip. Mice droppings, Dead flies in master bedroom. Floors were dirty, cabinets were stained and dirty.

This house was spectacular! The view of the lake could not have been any better. There was so much space for our 7 couple group-everyone was able to have a big bedroom and a private bathroom. The amenities were fantastic: indoor pool, hot tub, fire pit, pool table, etc. The owner was great with helping to make sure that things were in working order. This has been our favorite place so far in Deep Creek!

The location, view, pool and interior layout of the property are definitely five star. The kitchen and eating areas were well stocked and conducive to family dinners. We had adults (primarily couples) and children under 12. If there were teens and/or singles the lack of bunks or twin beds must be taken into consideration. The vrbo listing "twin bed" is not a twin bed but a chaise seat. The pool is indeed indoor. The picture gives the feeling of openness to the outside. However, the sliding doors are doors only not openings (ie, they cannot remain open IAW county law). Neither the sauna nor the humidity conditioning systems had function controls so were unusable. The pool was definitely used and enjoyed but not five star. The responses to our communications about concerns did produce satisfactory action or information that mitigated the concern. The initial text communication was answered with a "we will tell our team". That was about wetness and smell in a couple of locations in the lower level. A subsequent call (on a Sunday) to the 800 number (international help center in our estimate) got a "we have never heard of that and don't know what to say". Fortunately there were only passing rain storms the rest of the stay so the wetness was not a concern but the mustiness remained.

Frat Party Haven

This was supposed to be a convenient venue for our family reunion. The pictures are misleading. The cleaning crew did a poor job of preparing the sight, food bits and dust needed to cleaned before the ladies were happy. Toys were found in the pool skimmer, only one jet worked well in the hot tub, several windows wouldn't close or lock. More concerned with small animals entering than humans. Multiple window leaks when it rained, so we were using bath towels to limit the water flow inside. The gas stove igniters didn't work properly, so we got nosefuls of natural gas at times. Loads of lights that didn't work and light switches that did nothing. We were there for a weekend and that was long enough. Wouldn't be there for a week. Great venue for a frat party because it would be hard to prove it wasn't broken before. Great area, fun on the lake, great restaurants nearby. We had fun, but won't rent here again.

Great location but the house needs update and cleaning

The house is a great house but needs a major cleaning. The host charged so much for cleaning but we had stain on the sheets and bugs on the beds. I contacted the host and shared pictures but no one came to change the sheets. A lot of spider web outside and by the windows full of dead bugs that was clearly not cleaned for a while. We ended up washing the sheets and cleaning the house before using. Otherwise great location and view

Great for Small Family Reunion

Deep Creek Lake, and this house, proved to be the perfect find for our family reunion. From variety of outdoor activities for different ages to bedroom layout and bonus features, it was clear everyone had a great time. The house is aging and has a few maintenance issues that need to be addressed by the owners, but the property management’s communications with us were among the best I’ve experienced among VRBO and similar services. I had complete confidence that if the gas grill’s propane tank turned out to be empty they would be on it immediately. Bottom line, very happy with the overall experience

Excellent Location and Property

Absolutely superb location, overlooking Deep Creek Lake. The multiple bedrooms with walk out patios and decks are just an added bonus. We stayed here for a 70th birthday with about 20 people, ranging from 5 years to 75, and everyone had a blast. The heated pool for the kids during -20 degrees outside is worth paying every penny for. The property is older, and needs some minor updates, but the management is superb, and very open/perceptive to that feedback, and I expect it to be updated in no time. Plenty of parking, including a 2 car heated garage. The kitchen is huge and stacked with a 6 burner cooktop, microwave, small toaster oven, toaster, and 2 ovens. Tons and tons of space for everyone to enjoy!

Weekend Family Retreat!

Our family just wanted a cozy spot we could all gather and be comfortable. This home provided that. We were traveling with 15 adults, 2 teenagers, 3 kids, and 2 toddlers. Plenty of room to gather together or if you needed to hideout you could find a spot to go to be alone. Home is equipped with everything you need. We did go out and buy a few blankets for the pullouts but that was no big deal. Figuring out how to lock all the doors was a fun challenge but we figured that out too...lol Kids loved the pool. Adults spent both nights by the fire pit. Beautiful views. Family took pics of the sunrise over the lake that could have been postcards. Never needed to reach out to property management but I received texts and emails the entire stay just checking in and sending reminders. I will say linens were dropped off the day before our departure for the next guest and the person dropping them off wasn't too friendly. The house was perfect not sure if Deep Creek is an area we would return too though. Didn't get warm fuzzies from the local people there the few times we did have to venture out.

Perspective from a meeting group

We had a very good experience at this lovely home. There were several places for our group as a whole as well as subgroups to meet and do the work of the group. The furniture in the main room was a little soft for those of us with "mature" backs, but the pillows were helpful. The location of the house, high up on a hill with a beautiful view and gorgeous sunrise each morning was quite the bonus as were periodic visits from the deer! We also thoroughly enjoyed the indoor pool, outdoor hot tub and fire pit. It was great to have towels and linens provided. I can certainly see us returning in the future. Thank you!

50 th Wedding Anniversary Celebration with family

The house was as advertised and very clean. Sauna does not work and a minor issue with a shower handle was quickly resolved. This is truly the best view of the lake and we spent many blissful hours on one of the upper decks. Beautiful home impeccably furnished, well-stocked kitchen, and in a private setting. All 20 of us, 12 adults and 8 children were comfortable and had plenty of space. The kids loved the pool. It was a vacation that we will cherish in the years to come!

We had a wonderful stay at the property. We were three families and everyone had plenty of space but we also greatly enjoyed the common areas, huge dining room table, expansive outdoor patio and of course the pool! The house was clean and as described. Would absolutely recommend!

The property was beautiful. The weekend we came ended up being a winter weekend with frigid temperatures so we did get stuck on the hill coming in but one of the team members came and pushed the snow in the driveway and the hill leading to the house and pulled us out which was AMAZING! The one issue I had with the home was that the bedroom on the lower level on the right hand side was soooo cold. There was no heat blowing in that room. So my husband and I were freezing the whole weekend at night in that room but we bundled up to stay warm. Overall the view was beautiful and the staff are very responsive

Worked well for a large group

This property is wonderful for a large group. We had 18 people ranging in age from 3 to 82. The views were amazing. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the wildlife. There was plenty of parking and space for everyone. The kitchen was fantastic and had everything we needed to cook and serve meals for a large group. The living areas were comfortable. We enjoyed playing pool and cards/board games several evenings. The indoor pool was also a highlight. As mentioned in other reviews, the internet and Direct TV connection is poor. There is no working sauna. The house is in need of a little TLC for minor maintenance concerns. Also we don’t believe the hot tub had been cleaned prior to our arrival but it was quite nice after it had been drained and refilled. The property management company was very responsive and addressed our concerns timely. Our family had a fantastic time staying at Peregrines Perch and exploring the area. We would stay here again.

Annual Family Getaway

Peregrines Perch was the perfect house for our multigenerational family vacation this year. The view with the multiple balconies was unbeatable, second only to the dining room table that seats at least 18. The layout of comfortable bedrooms, spacious bathrooms, and multiple bonus rooms suited our needs to a tee. The kitchen amenities and appliances made it easy to cook for our crew. The host was quick to respond as was their maintenance service when we had a minor need late in the day (Thanks, Chad!). The slip for our boat was convenient to the house. Note: on busy lake days, the dock moves quite a bit. If we had to think of a negative, it would be the in-home wifi…it was not sufficient for our party, but the host assures that the house is on the list for better service soon. Thankfully our AT&T hotspots kept us up and running. Thank you, Lori, for all your help. We had a wonderful stay at DCL.

Don't Trust the Pictures!

While the view of Deep Creek Lake and the surrounding foothills was certainly spectacular, the house itself and the property management company (Red Barn Vacations) - not so much. We arrived to broken shower handles (my granddaughter had to use pliers to use hers), towel bars falling off the wall, an almost broken toilet seat, missing or broken screen doors with ripped screens, missing lightbulbs, non-functioning exterior lighting, non-functioning lights above the stove, burners that didn't light, a freezer that opening it required shoving on the refrigerator to keep it from pulling away from the wall, sink sprayers that stuck open, and spent an hour trying to figure out why the Wi-Fi wasn't working - resetting the router and modem - only to find out that the host had sent us the wrong password. Once that was resolved the signal was so weak, we were better off not connecting to Wi-Fi. Oh - and the ant horror show in the kitchen, for which we had to go out and by ant traps until the pest control team arrived to spray. On top of all of this - the sauna (which is prominent in the pictures), come to find out hasn't been working in over a year. Additionally - the pool, which we were told would be cleaned daily, had the same bunch of dead bugs clustered at the bottom for almost our entire week. I don't think it was cleaned the whole time we were there except for our last day when we texted RBV to let them know that the hot tub was out of chlorine tablets. The response to that query was that the tech had been to the house the day before at 3:00 PM and talked to the guests who said "everything was good and asked him to wait until they checked out". No tech appeared, no one in our group talked to any such person, and some of our group were actually IN the hot tub at that time - so the story was a fabrication. The pool tech miraculously appeared on Thursday morning (our last day) and cleaned the pool and added tablets to the hot tub. Peregrine's Perch may have been a stunner when it was first built - but it suffers from neglect for little things that make it worth the money we paid for this house for a week.
