I love this hotel, is nice and cozy. It has a lot of privacy because of the individual houses and small individual onsen.
I particularly like they preserved the historical houses. The dog and cats are so lovely, that’s one of the reasons I like this hotel so much!
Room was spacious and very clean, staff very welcoming and friendly, grounds and area around rooms lovely and well kept. The meals were outstanding, tasty, lovely and appetizing in appearance. The staff were so friendly, helpful, yet very professional. Kitty cats and dog were an added attraction
Best onsen we've stayed in and very much worth the cost. Yufuin, is small and walkable, fun place. Would love to revisit!!!!

Hotel is fine ( very good for 2 stars ). They have private Onsens, which is great. Resturant staff were amazing in catering a vegetarian meal(s) for my wife.
The place is 10 mins walk from the station and a lawson is just outside, very convenient. Great environment and comfort bed. With 5 private hot spring you can use! Breakfast and dinner are included! Great food!
We enjoyed the stay very much! Convenient location, staff are friendly and helpful and they speak good English. Onsen environments are nice.
We love the dogs and cats there.😍
Would be better if there are more support like amenity and small bags for us to bring towels to onsen.
Will come again for sure.
Nice Japanese boutique hotel within walking distance to town. Single storey Japanese style cottages or rooms (new wing) surrounded by Japanese gardens and features. 4-5 private in door and outdoor onsens to choose from. Delicious breakfast and for those with 1/2 board, the set dinner was very good with free flow of sake, coffee/tea and orange juice. Coffee/tea and orange juice also available at the reception lobby throughout our stay. Will stay again if visiting Yufurin in near future
The service staff is very warm and considerate, and the environment is beautiful, suitable for taking photos and relaxing.
You can leave your luggage and borrow a bicycle for free, and you don't have to walk a long way to the lake.
There are free microwave ovens, washing machines, beverage machines (soda, coffee, water), ice and hot water in the lobby.
There is a Lawson next door. You can buy things when you are hungry in the middle of the night.
There are two cute cats, a golden hound, and a relaxing rural atmosphere.
I came with my family. But I think it's more suitable for couples. It's a little strange that the family is naked together.
No. 2 hot spring is very hot... My family and I are probably cooked.😅
There is dinner, but I think it's a little ordinary. Maybe I will try to eat in other restaurants.
good location, 7 min walk from Yufuin station to hotel, nearby post office and convenient store
very friendly and helpful staff
very clean room , good facilities and comfortable room
highly recommend and must stay again for my next visit
good price
The location was the best and hot spring was good. One of the surprise thing was i can see the status of hot spring whether they are vacant or occupied. However room was so so so cold and meal they served was worse than i thought. It wasnt japanese cuisine and i coundnt understand why they made dinner course with beef bbq, pork bbq, chicken bbq, … I could not eat any kinds of meat for a while…

Liked: Amenities
Disliked: Cleanliness
It’s quite old and not really clean. The area under the bed was very dusty (we dropped something) and found other things others had dropped. Food was also average and not very worth the price we paid. The only good thing is that the room was big.

We want to experience a ryokan stay in Japan and decided to choose this property for a night. Our checkin was straightforward. The room was a little dated but has good size with a living area. The bathroom was very small but understandable with this style of property. We enjoyed the use of the onsen which was quite nice. We were disappointed with the breakfast and dinner which were included. It was our tenth day in Japan and we really enjoyed our every meal except for the breakfast and dinner served here which we felt were substandard especially for the amount we paid for the room. Meals at other hotels that we stayed prior to were much better. After the disappointment with breakfast, we walked over to Lawson the convenient store located next to the hotel and bought sushi roll and a croquette which was more gratifying. If food is not what you’re looking forward to, then this property is ok. There were other properties which received very good reviews but were fully booked so we really had no choice,
