The hotel’s location is fantastic and the view is superb. However, there’s still room for improvement in respect of service. Whenever we requested something, we were attended to in piecemeal fashion. Staff’s level of English may need to be improved. In addition, the bathtub was not equipped with shower gel or shampoo, and there is no TV in the bathroom. The TV also do not have Netflix or Apple TV functions. The theme of the room is also not Japanese enough, for which I cannot tell any visible difference between the room and any room in Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong.

Pricey but worth every dollar
Mandarin Oriental Tokyo remains one of our favourite hotels in Tokyo. The room conditions, after almost 3 years since our last visit, does not disappoint. The service is still top notch (with shoeshine valet service). The concierge is not as knowledgeable as pre-COVID times, probably due to the retirement of some senior staff. Yet, the WhatsApp online service provides excellent support pre-arrival (restaurant bookings and luggage pre-storage) and during our stay (including arrangement of Narita Express train tickets). Morning breakfast time is a bit crowded with a waiting time of over half an hour standing in line. Next time, will consider to have room service instead. Location is excellent with a department store next door and Ginza shopping is only two stops away. Overall experience is still excellent!
Though a bit annoyed when room key card not working.
Mandarin Oriental Tokyo has professional service. Very attentive staff at ground floor lobby. Spectacular panoramic view. Quality delicious breakfast with nice view. Sophisticated details in the room. Comfortable bed. Good location.
