Staff are friendly and proficient. Hotel is good value. Location is good for a walking holiday
As part of our driving tour of Ireland, we were looking at places with easy access. This place is out of town but on the main road. The room we got was spacious, and we made good use of the bar and restaurant. As usual, we overindulged with the big Irish breakfast. But enjoyed our stay. Parking was easy as well
Great value for money. Bedrooms remind me of Travelodge clean comfortable bed etc without the frills but downstairs there's good social areas Bar etc. Ate in both evenings and food was good and breakfast equally so. The only down side you could say was the busy road at the front but double glazing cut out most of noise. Staff all friendly and helpful. Visited early after reopening so quiet Will use again in the future
First time in Omagh and were very impressed with the hotel. The best hotels are those that are run by a family. The welcome is warm and genuine and your business is appreciated. Every aspect of our stay was 5 star quality. Will be recommending to family and friends and hope to return in the very near future. Keep up the high quality and standard
Receptionist was very friendly and welcoming both on arrival and a different lady when leaving. The room was comfortable and clean though very warm even though the room heater was off completely and the ensuite heater was on very low. A few little things would help such as the shower being raised, am not tall but couldn't stand under it. There seemed to have been tea and coffee along the hallway from our room for a group. This was all finished when we went to the room around 11 but it was just after 1am when we were wakened by rattles of cups being cleared which was a little frustrating. We had an evening meal with friends who weren't staying but who just booked into the restaurant. Meal came quickly and was very nice. We wanted to sit and chat and there were empty tables but we did feel like one lady in particular who was serving was pushing at times for us to leave which, being residents was not what we expected when we had been told all about the music and things which were happening. Breakfast was also good but we waited around 30 mins because of a group of about 16 who were not resident but had stopped for breakfast as far as we could understand. Otherwise there were only another 4 people in for breakfast and they also had a long wait. The lady serving did apologise and explain.Perhaps long term consider new windows as they were very draughty both in the room and in restaurant sitting beside them. Great views though. First time niggles but would stay again if passing.
First impressions were impressive. Location was good. Few minutes drive from omagh. Upon arriving we were behind a few people at the checkin who had issues with their room. Our room was at the back of the hotel, right above the boiler room. Which made it uncomfortably hot and very noisy. We had requested a fan from reception but they didnt have any. Tried to drown out the noise with the tv, but the volume was stuck on low. Very poor night sleep. And staff didnt seem surprised, and had mentioned wasnt the first time. Breakfast left alot to be desired. Got 60% refund after not taking no for an answer. Won't be in a rush back
The Mellon country hotel was exceptional. We stayed in a superior room and it was just that. Huge room, king size bed and all the comfort. The food and service was great and the staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Even booking our taxi to town. The breakfast was varied, anything you want practically. 100%. Best hotel we have stayed in Ireland for a long time
