Beautiful and Quiet
Great property with 360-degree views. Very secluded - you can see one house on an adjoining property, but it's pretty far away. Nice wrap-around porch. Great place to unwind and get away from it all.

Serene isolated get away
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Well maintained home with lots of collectibles, books, etc to discovery. Interesting location in an nice valley with cattle farming bordering the national forest (Yellowstone on a smaller scale comes to mind). Did a drive up to old fire lookout on top of Tunk mountain which was great as well!

My only suggestion would be to have the yard more trimmed and watered. Driveway could be weeded or trimmed as well. Nice place overall though.

Peace and Quiet
Found the peace and quiet we were looking for! Stunning sunsets and the night sky was amazing. Numerous shooting stars and saw the ISS pass overhead! Beautiful setting! Property could use some updating, dishwasher not working and BBQ seen better days. We will return to Okanogan County again! Tony

Remote and Quiet
Very nice place. We were in the area for a graduation. Great views from every side. Large piece of property with the nearest house at least 150 yards away. The owner was very responsive to questions. The 35 minute drive to Omak on a twisty road wasn't an issue for us at all. The view around the area is very nice. Tons of Blue Birds. I wish I had some binoculars. They had bird books but sadly the binocular case was empty. Very large rooms and nicely supplied. Sleeping the 5 of us was easy as it could very comfortably have accommodated more people. I would have given it 5 stars if the lawn had been mowed and the deck and deck furniture had been cleaned. I definitely would stay here again.

My New Happy Place
I was looking for a quiet place offering solitude and an escape from city life and holy smokes did we find it. The landscape is incredible. Photos do not do it justice. The cabin is well-appointed and comfortable. The property was so much fun to roam. We saw deer multiple times a day. And heard coyotes multiple times a day. The wraparound porch has multiple spots to cozy up and it was a blast to move to different sitting spots as the day went on. If you are interested in stargazing, this is the place for you! The night sky literally took my breath away the first night. I have never been able to see so many stars! We will definitely be renting this beautiful cabin again. Peter was great to communicate with!

Fun holiday week
My husband and I stayed here with our daughter and her partner and their two dogs during the week between Christmas and New Year's. Everyone enjoyed the cozy vibe of the house, the interesting decor, and the big kitchen for making lots of family meals. House is spacious with gorgeous expansive views and big bedrooms. We took lots of walks in the snow--there's a close-by trail system for long walks in the woods. A fun, relaxed winter retreat.

Great Location
Excellent house, location and beautiful area. House is spacious, clean, well furnished with simple instructions for use and clearing the property. Loved the 20 acres and proximity to Okanogan National Forest. Wildlife is amazing with Harriers, Hawks, Owls, Deer and even 3 Moose on the last day. Amazing.

Exceptional views
The property is gorgeous. Views from every window make a perfect photo. I had never been to the Okanogan Highlands before. The drive to the house goes through the valley, through rocky cliffs and up to a plateau of rolling hills.

RATS!
The property is gorgeous, in a secluded beautiful area but this was all undone when rats were discovered inside the house running across the counters and into the cabinets/ stove. Unfortunately, as the person booking on behalf of my techs, I just found this out, so I was not able to bring this to the attention of the home owner when it happened. Beautiful home otherwise. The TV situation could be a little better as there is only 1 small TV in the home.

There are no rats in or near the cabin. There are mice in the surrounding area, though the cabin is sealed against them. However, they are opportunistic and will enter the cabin if the doors are left open.

Nice and peaceful
Great spot to enjoy some time away from the city. I wish the owner would have cleaned the dishes from the previous guest who stayed in the house before us. As soon as we arrived, we had to clean an entire dishwasher full of someone else’s dishes. The refrigerator was also leaking when we arrived, so we had to clean up about a quart of stagnant water from the fridge before we could even use it. The filter was leaking, so every day we had to attend to it. I also wish the owner would have mowed more than a small perimeter around the cabin. My husband and I really wanted to hike around the property, but it was impossible to do so with all of the high grass and weeds. I suspect this isn’t a problem in the winter, but it was in the summer. I also wish the owner would clean the outside furniture. We couldn’t sit anywhere that did not have layers of bird excrement. WFH’ers: Know that there is internet access, but it is too slow to run any sort of VPN. We definitely could not have worked from the property. We also weren’t able to stream any content, and the small television (only one in the entire house that we could find) was a bit dated and had limited channels. But access to email and text messaging services worked great! All of that being said, the house was lovely, quaint, and exactly what we needed. We were looking to mostly disconnect, and we were able to do just that! It did get quite hot, but the air kept up and we really enjoyed our long weekend at the house. We got to hear a pack of coyotes take down some prey on our first night, and that was quite an experience! I would recommend this property to others for all of these reasons as well as the incredibly affordable nightly price!

Excellent place to get back to nature
Clean, comfortable, and spacious home in a beautiful natural setting. Quiet location that is an ideal home base for hiking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities in the area. The smell of ponderosa pine in the morning, excellent views of the stars at night, and plenty of solitude.

Exceeded all expectations
The house was spacious and light, and had everything and more, including a lot of interesting artworks. The gorgeous 360 degree view and wraparound porch were a big treat. I did a lot of reading and enjoying the peace of this beautiful unspoiled place. Check-in was easy and host was responsive. I hope to come back.

Breath of fresh air
Rental process was easy. Good communication and no hiccups. House is very comfortable. Two large bedrooms upstairs and one large bedroom down. Bathroom on each floor. 360 degree decks are amazing. 20 minutes or so out of town, maybe more/less depending on how you drive the windy road. But very peaceful and quiet at the house. And ohhh, the stars! Lots of hummingbirds, but not a lot of other birds or animals. It was pushing 100 degrees daily though. Which, AC worked well and kept us comfortable. No problems and discussing a return trip next spring.

Peace, privacy, and full accommodations amidst surrounding views.
The home is nicer, larger, and more accommodating than the photos show. All one needs is your food and luggage. The covered and surrounding porch/deck allowed us too enjoy lots of outdoor time (my husband is disabled) even in our hottest days. The surrounding and breath views, peaceful environment., and privacy (20 acres) allows one to enjoy music outdoors (during entertaining) In beauty, comfort, & style. We entertained with music outdoors (our personal CD player), enjoyed daily gorgeous sunrises & sunsets, long walks, bicycle rides, and took in the breathtaking views all around, everywhere you sat, slept, or walked whether indoors or outdoors. The home and kitchen had everything one would need! I particularly appreciated and took advantage of drinking lots of water and showering in the fresh well water! No chemicals! We will rent again for sure. One suggestion: It would be very helpful if the check-in instructions said WHERE the gas/propane tank is located outside. Other than that, we had a perfect stay. We HIGHLY recommend this beautiful home, location, and environment. Thank you!

Great property!
We loved the house and location. Exactly what we needed. My only complaint is I do wish they had mowed closer to our arrival, or possibly a little shorter around the house. But it’s probably because we are city dwellers and not used to the tall grass. But we enjoyed our “unplugged” vacation and the house was perfect. More room than we even expected and we so happy to see the baby items in the closet. My daughter thought the sock monkey tea set was the best thing ever. We will probably book again next summer.

Birders Paradise
We had a wonderful time at this home. We were very interested in birding and this place delivered. The wrap around porch lets you enjoy the light of the day and walking around the perimeter of the property was delightful. We would also highly recommend the Tunk Valley Wildlife areas, McLaughlin Canyon, and anywhere in the Sinlahekin. The home itself was very comfortable and the kitchen was great for preparing meals. Overall, this was a rare case where the pictures and description may have been underselling the beauty of the home and the property!

Very nice and quiet. Well equipped kitchen. Lots of room. Owner might want to upgrade the BBQ grill and we ran out of propane half way thru the cooking and had to move inside to oven.

This is a very nice place to stay if you want to be far away from everything. The wrap-around porch was great for my children to run around, with seating on all sides of the house. The kitchen was equipped with everything we need to make food for 5. The bedrooms are very large and provide good space for kids to play.

Top of the charts
This cabin is one of the best VRBO experiences we have ever had. The place is spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is one of the best equipped of the places we have stayed. The location is gorgeous and the house takes best advantage of the views. And the hosts arrival notes are complete, helpful and clear. His emails are great, too! We came for a cross-country ski vacation and now we want to come back for the wildflowers.

So relaxing! The house met all of our needs. Very clean and comfortable. We only left the house once in three days. Drove up to Crawfish Lake for a nice picnic. Loved sitting out on the wrap around deck. Book it! You'll love it!

Beautiful home in a peaceful location
My husband and I decided to book a last-minute getaway and found this absolute gem of a place! I actually think the cabin is NICER than the photos, which is a first for us. :) The cabin in set in such a peaceful and beautiful location. As mentioned, it is about a 20-ish min drive from Omak, exactly what we were looking for. A beautiful cabin in a quiet location. We spent the week relaxing, reading, making food, and exploring different areas around the Okanogan. This part of WA is new to us and the landscape is so unique. It was very hot during our stay but the cabin had wonderful A/C. Satellite internet was just fine for us, but don’t expect to do any Zoom calls as someone else pointed out. No cell reception at the house for us (T-Mobile), which again was not an issue. The cabin feels like someone’s home and is warm and comfortable. There were only two of us so we didn’t use the upstairs rooms, which were spacious too. We visited the ghost town of Molson (and museum - charming), drove along the Canada/US border (so beautiful), drove into Omak, the Chesaw wildlife area, Crawfish lake, the Okanogan National Forest, and then down to the Colville Reservation museum (essential if visiting the dam) and the Coulee Dam too. The birding was wonderful, the sounds of cows, crickets, the expansive sky and stars - all so wonderful! We’ll definitely be back to this special place.

Perfect for Unwinding
Stayed here with another couple to get away, disconnect and unwind. The front porch was PERFECT for lounging and long talks! Plenty of space for each couple to enjoy their privacy while enjoying common meals and game nights! Really appreciated the AC to keep the warm days manageable!

This property is so beautiful! The porch and hammock were the favorite places to hang. We went to crawfish lake about 15 minutes away and had the entire lake to ourselves. The house is so nice inside and wonderfully decorated. If I'm ever up in this area again I would definitely book this property

We really enjoyed our stay in this spacious, comfortable and well designed home. We especially enjoyed the wrap around deck and the lovely meadows. It was a long drive from the nearest store, so we were glad we brought everything we’d need for our three day stay. It was a terrific, quiet stay in a well designed, very comfortable home in a tranquil and beautiful location.

Terrific ranch experience for birders and other nature lovers
The drive out to the ranch on Tunk Road is a good indicator of how beautiful and pristine the environment is. It's a ways from town (that's a good thing, IMHO) and it is especially wonderful if you like birding. We stayed for 4 nights while we were on a Portland Audubon Birding adventure in the Okanagon. Think leave at dawn, get home home at sunset kind of trip. But in 30 minutes of walking the property, we startled a dusky grouse, saw a Say's Phoebe nesting in the eves and countless mountain blue birds, in amonst the vesper and savannah sparrows. The house is well appointed in terms of kitchen gear. You have to turn on the propane and water, which is typical of a a rural house and no big deal. Great instructions from Peter. Highly recommended when you have time to stay and hang out on the covered deck with a cold beer, binocs and a recent bird book.

Beautiful and comfortable
We loved this place! My husband and I were visiting family. They came up a couple of times to cook and hang out. Very comfortable house with everything one would need. I know you aren’t supposed to work on vacation, but my husband had to do a couple of zoom meetings. The Wi-Fi really doesn’t support that well. But other than that, it was perfect!!!

Great location & views
Very comfortable and spacious property. Perfect home base for multiple day hikes in the general area (highly recommend Virginia Lilly and Pipsissewa trails), then come back and relax. Near enough to town for a major Grocery store and restaurant takeout, but remote enough for privacy and peace.
