Just outside of the Porcupines, the location couldn't be beat! Nice view of Lake Superior as well. Room was clean and comfortable and good assortment of breakfast foods.

This is an amazing location! What a quaint hotel with clean rooms. There are firepits for evenings. A beautiful view of lake superior was right across the street. Lake of the clouds 10 minutes away and noteworthy waterfalls 30 min to an hour away. The owner even has a gas station to fill up which was perfect! There is a cute breakfast every morning too. My son and I had a magical time and enjoyed our stay! The owner was great!

Sign said 100 dollars a night I paid 63 dollars more. Also wasn't sold out for weekend. Nice location just needs some TLC. Beds were very old.

Just don't. This is not a hotel. This is a room with a bed. We walked in and my husband was like, nope. It is like a seedy motel. The location is AMAZING...right across from the lake, but the place itself, is one step away from where you could rent by the hour. Spend the extra money and stay at the AmericInn down the street. We did.

Great location and it looks like they are trying to make improvements so they get credit for that. Lack of convenient outlets is an issue, lights mounted above the headboard but switch is by the door so not great, if you are ok either way a muffin and banana for breakfast then you will be fine, window in room was disconnected from the crank so had to take screen off and pull window closed…little things add up.

The room was cute but the bathroom was bad. Tub looked old and dirty no hot water so just washed up at the sink. Had a continental breakfast that was ok. Was dog friendly the girl was nice saying we could pay when we leave the next morning for the dogs. The room already was paid for. But the next morning the guy asked if we were in room 205 and we owe him money for the dogs. Kind of rude the way he asked.

On a normal day, I would harp about the dated rooms and property. But here's the thing - The room was surprisingly clean, the location is nothing short of perfect, and the price (comparatively) reasonable. On top of that, renovations are underway. And what I saw looked great! Hopefully the place remains affordable. In the meantime, enjoy an actual key (you know, the old-style metal key with room tag attached), a clean room, the absolutely amazing views, and don't expect too much from the breakfast bar. A little bit of a mixed bag, but I can't wait to stay here again!

Pros: the decor is cute. The room was clean enough to sleep in. The lobby was welcoming. Cons: there was no toilet paper in our bathroom when we checked in and mold in the shower as well as used bottles and trash. There was 1 bath towel for 4 people. The WiFi was extremely poor. I wouldn’t count on a connection. The hallway floor and bedroom floor seemed hollow so tread lightly. You will hear dogs barking(but I don’t mind that so much)

We loved that the Lake was right across the road from us and we were close to the Porcupine Stare Park entrance. We didn’t like that there was no staff on duty when we arrived and we didn’t see anyone all the next day either even though we were in and out several times. They had left a key for us on the counter. There was a number to call but no one answered/no voicemail available. The cold water didn’t work in our sink. My sheets seemed sandy so I slept on top of them. When we did meet the owner he was nice and got us more towels that we asked for. Sounds like he bought the place after it stood empty for 15 years, and you can tell he has been improving it, but it still needs a lot of work. We usually tent camp but with the heat this week this was still a better alternative, and we loved the location.

Loved the location, just a mile outside the Porkies, beach access across the street. Nice outside area to relax that included a firepit. Very basic continental breakfast, nothing fancy. Appreciated the Keurig coffee dispenser. Interior was very clean, it was obvious the owners are giving the place TLC as it is older. Would recommend to others.

Everything else was fine, but the breakfast was a total letdown. They advertised a "continental breakfast," but it was super basic—just a few cereals, muffins, milk, coffee, yogurt, and bananas for fruit.
