My Dream Home

I had lived in the Irange County area for over 25 years until we moved about 10 years ago. When we lived there I was intrigued by the Eichler Homes and loved everything Mid Century Modern . We went to several rare open houses over the years of these homes but never found one that worked for us. So when I was planning a return visit to the area and was looking for a Vrbo for us and our Lab puppy this one immediately caught my eye. It gave me the opportunity to live in a home I had dreamed of owning for a few days. I loved it. Love the light open spacious floor plan. The baths and kitchen have been updated nicely and the yard and patio were big and well kept. There really was only one thing this place was lacking and that was a Keriug coffee maker ( my husbands necessity ). The management company also was very easy to communicate with.

Clean, Bright, Fun Mid-Century Gem

My husband & I came to Orange to visit our son at Chapman U. , plus a quick visit to Disneyland. I’m a big fan of mid- century style, so staying here was a treat. Lots of natural light via skylight. Our daughter came in from LA & stayed one night in the 2nd bedroom. The master is nicely located on the other side of the living room from the rest of the rooms in the house, which makes it feel like a private suite. Loved hearing the birds in the backyard every morning! So convenient to have a washer /dryer, just opposite the 2nd bathroom. I liked the shower in that bathroom, as it was adjustable. The shower in the master is a rain shower type, also very good. Large walk in closet just off the master bath, with lots of clothes hangers & space for 2 to keep clothes. The office is perfect to get a bit of work done. The kitchen was beautiful, and had lots of supplies. They could use a few more regular sized coffee mugs. The atrium just inside the front door has an amazing succulent garden, and many beautiful succulent plants throughout the house, as well as many lovely accent pieces. The television was a bit awkward to use, with a voice that announces everything you’re passing up, until settling on a channel. Some instructions left near the controls would be helpful, but we managed. We loved staying here & hope to again in the future.

Work trip combined with fun

The house is very unique and the neighborhood is kept very nice. There are little things that could be easily updated or fixed that would truly give the house a 5 star rating across the board. A few examples- there is only one lounge chair in the yard and it’s totally ripped and unusable. The outdoor table and chairs have no coverings or pads so they aren’t comfortable to sit on. So the yard was only used by our dog - who really enjoyed it. We had quite a bit of rain and wind during the first few days and there are several leaks in the ceiling and the skylights allow dirt to blow in. If I owned the house this would be troublesome. The only serious issue was we had a gas leak on the line that goes to the cooktop. I called the fire department who immediately came and shut off the gas. The management company had this fixed within a few hours - great response. But they did disregard the minor issues. Last thing to mention is the tree in front of the house - and many like it in the neighborhood- it drops these spiky round pods that caused us both to end up on the cement more than once - as they’re like stepping on dozens of golf balls, they’re obnoxious and should be swept up regularly. But like I said they are everywhere so they must be native trees. To end on a positive- the house itself was a good experience, nice beds, stocked kitchen, easy to use appliances. For someone who stays in at least 10-12 vrbo’s a year, these elements are very important to me.
