"I never would have believed that the best meal of my Japan trip would be French food cooked in the shadow of Mt. Fuji, but life is funny sometimes. This place is FANTASTIC! From passing Google translate back and forth with the sweet proprietor, to soaking in the private onsen after a long day of walking, to watching Mt. Fuji out my hotel window, I loved every second of staying here. The location is fantastic as well - it's about a 10-minute walk from the touristy areas of lake Yamanaka, but...

"This place was so neat! It had a very unique cottage vibe with a wonderful breakfast option. Make sure you order it before your reservation day. Warnings: This place is out in the woods with limited bus routes available. Like only 5-6 routes all day. So plan accordingly. Also, each room has its own toilet but you shares the shower/onsen room. Only one family/person uses it at a time. "

"Super quaint and cute place to stay. English is limited but everyone is super friendly and accommodating. We were tired from hiking when we arrived and it was Dark, we could not find a place to eat and a few directions would have been nice. Besides that, everything was lovely. Since we passed out from being tired, we didn’t let the heat get to us and had a great sleep."

"Fantastic warm welcome from this family run pension, they go out of their way for their guests. Rooms are basic but had what we needed. Food was tasty and beautifully presented and it was lovely to use the hot bath after a long day’s walking. In the days of corporate hotels with no individuality this is a breath of fresh air."

"Very pleasant stay. Great view of Mt. Fuji right at the front door of the resort. Everything you need is provided. Best dinner ever with the BBQ they provided. We bought very fresh food at nearby supermarket and grilled them for dinner. Staffs were really helpful while I sprained my ankle the first night. Appreciated their help."
