We booked this reasonably last minute - about a week out from our trip. Sometimes that works out, sometimes it's a disaster. This was a great, lucky find.
Location: Set about a block away from Byward Market and a 10 minute walk from the Parliament Buildings, The Mint and all the main attractions in Ottawa, this could not have been more perfectly located. There is a Green P parking garage about 3 doors down and overnight parking was about $15. There are lots of restaurants nearby as well.
The staff was very helpful - we checked in quickly, the evening manager made a good recommendation for dinner, and in the morning the desk clerk offered to mail some postcards for us.
The hotel lobby, rooms and dining room are all decorated with interesting abstract artwork. The breakfast we quite good if not fancy - scrambled eggs, sausages, granola, boiled eggs, cereal and fresh fruit. There were also egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches - the only disappointing part of the stay. They tasted too much of processed cheese which I don't like - but if you do, fill your boots, take one for the road. We will definitely book again on our next trip through Ottawa.
