Very relaxing and a great base for exploring

We had a fantastic stay at the villa - the photos don't do it justice. Lots of space to relax & enjoy the views. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. We made several trips in all directions to Lisbon, Faro, Lagos, West coast beaches & East to the national park. But most of all we enjoyed relaxing around pool.

Surviving the heat

Despite the heat, the house was quite cool, especially the kitchen and the air conditioning in the bedrooms also helped. The house is great, well equipped and we had a great vacation.

Beautiful place, beautiful people.

The photos do not do justice to the property. In real life, it is much bigger.The house is comfortable, well kitted out. All the rooms are spacious.Lounge and loft games area, is such a nice idea. The airconditioned bedrooms are a must in the summer & have really comfortable beds. The doubles are huge. The pool & patio area is perfect. The outside space is well thought through, so shade can be accessed at any part of the day. It is comfortably zoned, to eat, lounge and socialise.Good supplies of tea, coffee, dish washer tablets, washing liquid & toilet rolls mean there is no need to rush to the supermarket to manage short term.Helpful information for everything, from how the coffee machine works, to recommendations for local restaurants & much in between, is so helpful. The area is quiet & the distant noise of the farm animals when outside is comforting. The birds are just beautiful, even if that is not usually your thing. We had family illness which resulted in a change in our plans. As soon as I messaged Sue, she rang immediately and offered her personal help, support & suggestions of how we could manage. As if that wasn't enough, she and Andy came straight round when I had difficulties with the hire car.They are both genuinely kind and caring & went out of their way with a sincere generosity of spirit. I recommend a train trip to Lisbon and following the restaurant recommendations. This couple have really got it ALL covered. Beautiful place, beautiful people. Thank you!

...in a wonderful house offering plenty of space. Hot temperatures could easily be handled with the very nice pool. The hosts are extremly kind and nice, always responsive, so that we missed nothing at all! A great place to stay if sun is a must during your vacation!

Family holiday to relax

What an idyll in the middle of nowhere seemingly. Perfect for a quiet and relaxing get away from it all holiday. Perched on its own hill this accommodation looks over the surrounding area onto olive groves, sheep and to Ourique in the distance. But this doesn’t mean there is nothing to do. Ourique, a 10 -15 minute drive away has supermarkets and restaurants and the coast, with less crowded beaches than the Algarve, is only 45 minutes west (by car). The accommodation is wonderful with a kitchen that has every utensil you might need, three large double bedrooms (two with aircon - which we did need at times as the thermometer topped into the 40s) and a comfortable lounge and mezzanine. Outside the kidney shaped pool was clean and very refreshing and the surrounding poolside had beds for all to relax on. The hosts appeared twice a week to clean the pool so it was always delightful. Bikes are available for use and a table tennis table. Clear skies at night to watch the Milky Way and shooting stars. What a great break. Wonderful helpful owners with useful suggestions for restaurants and places to visit.

Un accueil dans les règles. Située sur une colline, dans cette location vous surplombez un environnement naturel typique au Portugal. Question confort, c’est idéal. Magnifique séjour

Ce séjour a été parfait. Grâce à la propriété qui est encore plus grande que l'ont pourrais croire tout comme la piscine. Mais ce qui a sublimé le séjour a été la disponibilité et la gentillesse des gérants de la villa. Ils sont sympathiques et très compréhensif. A peaceful panorama

The house was excellent. Set in a beautiful location the house is well equipped and included many thoughtful extras including a table tennis room, a well maintained swimming pool, BBQ in a shady terrace area. The hilltop setting gave the best views of the surrounding countryside.

Rural Calm, relaxing holiday

This holiday house is very conveniently located just 6mins drive from Ourique and a perfect place to unwind and relax as a family. The view was simply stunning. We were lucky to be able to enjoy the amazing sunset, super moon and sunrise. We have stayed during the heatwave and reaching 40°C + almost everyday so we spend most of the time in and out of the pool. This was our 5th time to spend our summer holiday around Castro Verde/Ourique area. Alentejo is simply a beautiful place and we are definitely be back again and explore further. Susan is a perfect host she is very kind, friendly and helpful. The house is equipped with everything you need.. (washing detergent, dish washer tablets etc etc which we normally needed to bring or purchase on arrival) I definitely recommend this place if you would like to be away from the crowd and simply enjoy the Alentejo beauty...

Uma semana de sonho !!

Somos 4 amigos e ficámos 5 noites na casa da Susan e foram as melhores férias desde há muito tempo! Para começar a Susan é super atenciosa e simpática, sem nunca incomodar. A casa é extremamente privada, sem vizinhos por perto e por isso está localizada numa zona excelente para relaxar e estar à vontade. Os quartos são muito confortáveis, limpos e acolhedores. A cozinha é muito bem equipada com todos os utensílios necessários, até mesmo para pratos mais elaborados. Os Wc´s são simples mas confortáveis, e para 4 pessoas serviram muito bem, mesmo só havendo um duche. O exterior foi a melhor parte para nós que tivemos sorte com o tempo. Fizemos torneios na mesa de ping pong, andamos nas bicicletas quase todos os dias, e o melhor de tudo? Mergulhamos muito na piscina e apanhámos muito sol com uma vista alentejana fantástica!! Usámos muito também o barbecue que funciona a 100% e está perfeitamente localizado na zona de refeições exterior, ao lado da porta da cozinha. Ficámos muito satisfeitos com esta casa e tivemos de facto as melhores férias em muitos anos!! Parabéns à Susan, pois tem muita atenção ao pormenor e isso sentiu-se até nas pequenas coisas que por vezes não reparamos. Queremos muito voltar e definitivamente que o vamos fazer!
