"Older, Victorian-type hotel. Even though the car park is right behind the hotel, it can’t be accessed directly, only be by making a big circle through the city center. We literally went around in circles for about one hour, since Carlisle is an old city and the street plan is complicated. This may be temporary due to a street closure in front of the hotel, and probably the hotel can’t do anything about it, but wished we had come by train instead of car."

I was in a single room, and did feel like i had been banished to a lower standard of hotel, but once in room all was great. Well appointed--comfortable mattress, beautiful bedding, great bathroom--comfortable couch and small table for eating. Excellent value. More than 1 venue for food--different styles. We only sampled breakfast--the granola parfait was perfect. "
