I stayed at the Brooklands guest house for a night due to a work trip so can't comment on its proximity to tourist sights, but the accommodation was close to the station. It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed including a kettle and snacks in the room. I had a generous breakfast before checking out the next morning.

Absolutely wonderful - everything about the stay was perfect - beautiful house, breakfast, and hostess ! It is no wonder that it is. 4 in a bed winner ( for those who don’t know it’s a uk TV programme where 4 guest house owners compete against for best guest house etc ) We didn’t know this when we booked ! We will definately be staying when we’re back down for the world Marmalade festival next year ! Beautiful property, really friendly owner, unbelievably comfortable bed and stunning decor on deluxe room king room. Also had a lovely cooked breakfast. Great location, close to town centre with easy parking outside. Would thoroughly recommend!

We had a wonderful stay at Brooklands for the night. Our host offered us information on arrival and parking and the option to book in for breakfast. The room was very comfortable and spacious with great views. There was a good shower and plenty of towels.

Lovely Penrith guest house

Welcoming stay at a beautifully maintained guest house in Penrith. The owner Sue was very helpful, with great suggestions for dinner and day trips, and efficient service. The room was extremely comfortable and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. Delicious cooked breakfast. Great location, close to town centre and a ten minute walk from the train station.

This is probably the best Guest House we have ever stayed in. The house is beautiful, the rooms are gorgeous, hospitality is excellent. The lovely little extra touches in the room are so nice. The breakfast was filling and good quality with plenty of variety.plus ww got parked outside the door. Theres isnt much to do in Penrith but we didnt care as we loved our stay here.I cannot recommend enough, its so worth a stay.

Festival success!

Excellent, everything we needed and more, literally going the extra mile. The owner drove us to a festival that we came for when we could not get a taxi or uber. The tub was the best I had ever soaked in. Very clean and comfortable room.

This is a wonderful place to stay--convenient to the train station and the center of town, but in a quiet area. We stayed twice, before and after hiking in the Lakes District, and stayed in two different rooms. The beds are very comfortable, and both rooms had space for us to spread out. Tip: when it's really hot, the lower floors are cooler! Breakfast is great; we only got the continental, but it comes with porridge or overnight oats, and the menu for full breakfast looked fantastic and Sue cooks to order. And her fruit buffet can't be beat! Sue is a great host, and while she maintains a very clean place, she warmly accommodates bikers and hikers who arrive in less-than-clean condition (even a little early), and she has a place to store bikes and dry their shoes, etc.--this seems like a great place for the Coast-to-Coast riders to stop.

This is a great place to stay! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was large compared to many places we’ve stayed at, it is a very quiet neighborhood yet an easy walk to town, and the breakfast is excellent! We only got the continental breakfast (which can come with porridge or overnight oats), but Sue puts out a gorgeous fruit bar with yogurt and a variety of other toppings that we feasted on (her hot breakfast menu looks awfully good too). We look forward to our return there after several days in the Lakes District. It was very easy to come and go, and there’s a convenient laundromat just up the street if you’re in need.
