“If you are looking for a beautiful and quiet place to get away from it all this is it! As we opened the door of the cottage we were like wow this is beautiful and very clean! A tray filled with a variety of fruit and a loaf of banana bread (the banana bread was so yummy!) was waiting for us on the table as well as a welcome note from our hosts Laurel and Lani. The 8 acre site that the cottage is located on is a fruit orchard that is maintained by the hosts. A very unique cottage with a setting……

“ The property is impressive and breathtaking. Directly behind it is huge cliffs overlooking the ocean. We saw several whales back there. You walk through their deep (acres) backyard and come out to this shaded oasis. Be aware there is no beach access, you are on a cliff with no beach. Below the water rages on a rocky shore. This area is rural and you likely won’t see anyone else back there. This place is extremely secluded, safe and peaceful. There is a gate to the community and another gate……

“We honestly didn’t stay, lasted about 10 minutes & decided to go get a room in Hilo. Wasn’t the cleanest room & had pests in the room. I realize Hawaii has bugs/lizards (especially on east side) but we weren’t interested in sharing our room with them. ”

“The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed the original artwork and colorful decor. The grounds were beautiful, filled with a waterfall, orchards hanging on trees and chairs scattered throughout the gardens to sit and take in the beauty of nature. ”

“The entire property was magical--such a peaceful and serene area. I truly enjoyed my stay at the Owl Nest. The property was equipped with everything I needed, making my experience completely comfortable. One of my favorite details was how, by opening all the curtains, you feel almost as if you’re sitting outside. The windows stay open with screens, so at night you can hear the soothing sounds of frogs and rain. It was an incredible way to connect with nature while indoors. I would rate this……
