2024 April Stay
We loved being able to just walk across the street and enjoy low tide, walk to a sandy beach or just walk along the water. Our only issue was that the kitchen counters had food stuck to the front edges and several dishes were in the cupboard, dirty; even had pasta stuck to them. But, we had a wonderful time.

Beach BEAUTIFUL
We booked a weekend for son's birthday, who lives near beach in Santa Cruz. He was wowed by the beach at this house. The pictures of the house represented it well, including all the ocean views from every room. House kitchen well appointed for cooking. So appreciated enough silverware for many meals. The two minute walk to tide pools was a favorite, as well as enjoying towns nearby. Watching the baby seal at the cove of Point Lobos will always be remembered. Can't wait to go back!

Location location
As advertised….cozy and comfy! Lots of deer came to visit. The surf was at his highest and was beautiful. Had a glitch with the TV and a new one was delivered. Be aware there aren’t any spices or coffee to start you out! Smallish kitchen but certainly doable! And doing dishes old school was reminiscent of my childhood! Great location for walking, shell gathering, tide pool playing!

Wow!! What an amazing house with incredible views!! House was clean and beautiful and the beds were extremely comfy. Stocked with all of the necessities to have a comfortable stay. Great stay; great location
Love this house. It's a literal stone's thrown from the ocean. Great views, comfy beds, kitchen has all you need. We would stay here again. Oh, and communication with the host was quick and efficient. She is amazing.

This was our second stay at this home and we loved it. The views from all the rooms are spectacular! So many beautiful sunsets 🌅 without leaving the home. The home is comfortable and supplies everything you need. We can’t wait to come back next year 😍

Amazing location!!!
This house has an amazing location, very comfortable beds and pillows and a great amount of space for 6 people! The only thing I think that could be improved is the comfort of the outdoor space. The benches and small patio area wasn’t very comfortable; but the ability to just walk across the beach for walks and sunsets was well worth the small amount of bench discomfort. I want to book this again for this same weekend next year!

Breath taking views
The property is very comfortable (I love the cabin feel) and a perfect location. We watched the sunset every evening from our front yard. It’s right across from our favorite hiking trail. We even walked to Pebble Beach. We saw deer, whales and even a coyote. Such a relaxing vacation.

Fun location, but needs help
If you expect a 1990 vintage property, this is fine. Needs lots of little things to improve, like the coffee pot due not work with the coffee maker, so no coffee, the espresso has no pods so no coffee, so easy fixes. Sheets are tired, and mattresses seem pretty old. One roll of paper towels provided, should be more. These are just a few items, there are others… So mostly a general lack of basic items, etc

Very nice, on the ocean.
Very clean, right on the ocean and easy to access. The explanation for access could have been written more clear, as we had a challenge figuring it out. Otherwise a first class older property!! I will use it again for sure.

Great views and cozy stay
My whole family had a great time staying at this house it was cozy and just a walk across the street to a small beach that my kids loved. Deers were in the front yard every morning it was amazing. The only thing is that if you have small kids the front door only has 1 lock that is easy to open so keep a eye on that door to the street. Would highly recommend any family staying at this home.

Beautiful location w amazing views, easy access to the coastal trails. Comfortable gathering places. We were there for 4 days - for a wedding at Pebble Beach so we didn’t spend lots of time at the house. Note- The carpets must’ve been cleaned before us so they were damp the whole time we were there.

Location Location Location.
Property exactly as represented. Unlike many vrbo rentals, this house was very well stocked. Anythung we thought of needing they had there waiting for us. Loved the location - great path for walking, cool tidepools right across the street, deer grazing in frong and back uards, beautiful sunsets. On our last day we had 2 solid hours of whales feeding and spouting visible from the house. Host was wonderful and very responsive. Highly recommend.

My family and I loved this house! The location was great, just walk a few steps and you are on the beach. When you have to go back inside, you can still see the ocean from every room! The house had lots of comfortable seating, the bedrooms were big, and the mattresses were comfortable. Everything was very clean and the house had everything we needed. I did not want to leave and I definitely want to come back!

Great Location but with Challenges
Great location with beautiful scenery! But the painters got in the way. First, we could not check in at 3:30 as promised because the painters were there. They did not leave until I contacted the owner, so we checked in after 4:30. Then at check-out, they were there again by 8:00 am, when check-out is at 10:30. They waited around the outside of the house scoping out the windows, etc. They also left garbage, taking up 75% of one of the garbage cans. (The property rep did not believe us.) Other issues of safety came up, such as a few of the windows were unlocked, and a lamp that fell apart when moved appeared to have been repaired multiple times, as indicated by the glue on the lamp base at the break. Fortunately, my husband checked and addressed the situation regarding the windows, but my son--a fireman--was concerned that none of the bedrooms had smoke detectors. We have rented a number of VRBO homes and were pleased overall with our stays. For us, this time it was the beach access that made the difference, not the accommodations.

It's all about the view!
The home's location is great. It was so easy to drive to all the nearby towns and attractions. The views are wonderful. We found this home very charming. We enjoyed the many unique furniture pieces. The heat works very well and the beds were comfortable. Due to California restrictions we couldn't make a wood fire outside, but we enjoyed sitting out front and taking in the scenery before us. There was plenty of hot water for showers, etc. Something to note is there is a Nespresso single cup coffee maker and it cannot use typical K cups. The sea air has warped the door leading into the garage and it can be difficult to open/close, but that is to be expected when the home is across the street from the ocean. If you are looking for a home that is very modern and more hotel-like, this may not be the place for you. My friend and I were very happy here and would stay again in the future.

made the best of a beautiful location during a power outage
Everything was wonderful about this property except that we lost power due to high winds for the majority of our stay. Owners did give us more firewood but only one of the flashlights worked. Owners were communicative and as helpful as they could be given the entire Monterey area was out of power. Location is a dream and would love to stay again. Literally steps to the beach and walking trails and easy to get around.

This property is in an excellent location with terrific ocean views! If you love to walk, this is for you. You can access the miles of trails built along the beach right across the street. The house is very clean and as described. Communication with property manager was easy and prompt - thank you for everything! We would definitely stay here again!

Be careful if there is a storm coming
We got there on a Friday in a storm. Then Saturday morning our electricity went out for 5 hours. The house gets freezing cold since it is made out of cinder block cement. Then on Sunday there was sun for a few hours and we got to see the monarchs. Yeah !!! Then Sunday night the electricity went out at 1:45 am and was out until 9:30 or 10.am Monday So once again we were freezing and no heat. and no hot shower before our trip home. The host had told me to light the fireplace with the lighter on the mantle. There was NO lighter on the mantle, and when I ask for instructions on how to open the flu and turn on the gas, she was nervous about giving me instructions since I had never dealt with a fireplace like this before?? so we sat in the cold and dark she was unable to come start a fire for us due to the rain. Then that very morning as I was sitting at the dining table the roof started leaking on my head!! What next. !!! We packed up and left by our appointed time of 11 I was never offered any kind of compensation or even an apology for all the issues. RENTERS BEWARE of Power outages and Roof leaks

The power outages were community-wide and, unfortunately out of my control. We have lanterns, candles and a huge fireplace at the home but this guest had never built a fire. I could not drive over to help because there was a severe storm with alerts to stay off the road. By the time the roads were safer and I was getting into my car to drive over, the power came back on. The small roof leak was also a result of this extraordinary weather system but, as a result of this occurring, I am now installing a new roof on the house this month. Losing power is never fun, but the entire town was in the same boat. On the plus side, I've always found it thrilling to watch the drama of storms unfold over the ocean. Unfortunately this guest did not enjoy it at all.

What a fabulous week! You can’t beat the location - the house is literally steps from the beach and has spectacular views. The house was exactly as described, was clean, had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our family of five. Definitely one we’ll mark as a favorite for return trips to PG.

Amazing location
This property is a cozy rustic home. So fun to enjoy the amazing view from every room. I love Asilomar beach. You can get on the trail just by crossing the street. Saw whales and sea lions from the front yard. And the sunsets were breathtaking. I definitely will book this home again!

House is just as described online, clean and comfortable. The property manager was responsive and gracious. The location is superb, with easy walking access to sandy beaches and rocky tidepools. Crashing waves can be heard in all three bedrooms which the entire family appreciated! Due to a new local ordinance, only coal can be used in the fire pit in the front yard but wood was provided to enjoy a fire in the fireplace, which we took advantage of every night. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

The views and location make this rental well worth the price! Wished there was a dishwasher, but otherwise the home had all the necessary kitchen items and comforts. We loved seeing the host’s family photos and thinking of all the history and memories made in the house. Would definitely go back!

The location couldn’t be closer to the beach! 2 washers & 2 dryers makes it easy after a long day at the beach. Kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials-just a quick trip to 2 close by grocery stores to stock up on all your favorite snacks or enough food to cook for the entire group! Comfy beds, beautiful views from all 3 bedrooms and the sound of the crashing waves to lull you to sleep at night! Plenty of towels provided upstairs & down. Games for kids & adults are provided in cupboards in living room. TV in every room for entertainment. Close to the Aquarium, shops in Pacific Grove & Carmel & restaurants. 2 thumbs up!

The house is strategically located across from Asilomar and the waves put you to sleep at night. The boardwalk is a wonderful way to experience the beach areas or to access the tidepools. The pics are exactly how the place looks. We didn't do a ton of cooking but the kitchen appears to have anything one needs.
