"Saltine" is an exquisite cottage overlooking Hungry Bay in Paget.

In July 2025 Condé Nast Traveler selected Saltine as one of the top 11 vacation stays in Bermuda and selected it as the top pick for Local Charm.

With stunning views across south shore with magnificent sunrise, enjoy the nature, beauty & tranquility of Hungry Bay, while being a short distance from the City of Hamilton.


Mezzanine Cottage consisting of upper floor bedroom and powder room. Lower floor has kitchen, bathroom & living area. Fabulously finished & fully equipped cottage. Living room sofa contains a sleeper sofa.

Enjoy the private balcony overlooking the bay as well as the garden area in front of Saltine.

Access Hungry Bay where guests can body board, paddle board & kayak, or just listen to the ocean waves crashing & watch the colors of fish beneath or the Eagle Rays as they glide in for an afternoon swim!

Saltine accommodates up to 4 people but is ideal for couples. Additional accommodation is one pull out queen sofa bed in the living area that accommodates 2 people.

There is high speed fibre internet, cable TV and an Apple TV unit so you can use your i-Tunes or Netflix login in to watch movies, shows etc. There is a bluetooth enabled JBL sound bar you can play music on from your personal device.

Saltine sits on the mouth of Hungry Bay. Hungry Bay is a nature reserve on the south coast of Bermuda. It was established in 1986 and is considered the best example of coastal mangrove reserve on the island. It is protected by a Tree Preservation Order and designated as an official Nature Reserve within the Parks system of Bermuda.

This exquisite cottage exceeded every expectation. Killian and Elaine have thought of every detail to make this home away from home a delight to stay in. It's fabulously decorated! We were so comfortable and enjoyed the spectacular views while we sat and enjoyed meals on our own patio savoring the turquoise waters. We loved walking in the wonderfully quiet neighborhood, My husband is an avid fisherman and caught multiple fish right outside our door! We look forward to escaping here again! STUNNING! Your own little piece of paradise!!

We have done multiple VRBO stays across the world, but this piece of paradise may well be one of the top three places we’ve ever stayed! Fabulous cottage on the bay, where we enjoyed daily snorkeling as beautiful fish come almost ashore in the wonderful shallow bay that is Hungry Bay. Parrot fish, blue tangs, spotted eagle rays, fascinating rock features are literally just steps away. This beautifully decorated cottage provided ample space, was a wonderfully stocked excellent accommodation we quickly called home for a time. Very close proximity to Hamilton which is within easy access to dining, shopping, and scooter or Twizzy rentals for navigating the island.Our host, Killian, could not have been more gracious and accommodating with excellent assistance providing travel recommendations and contact information, restaurant recommendations and more. Bermuda is a must see and The Saltine is a must stay. Selfishly it would be nice to keep it under my hat because we enjoyed it so very much but others must see and experience Bermuda while resting your head easy every evening in this lovely and beautifully appointed cottage. Everything we could’ve imagined and more!!!

We enjoyed our stay so very much. Kilian and Elaine are wonderful hosts and if we return to Bermuda, we'll stay here again. So centrally located, beautiful scenery from the cottage...almost fake! Amazing Cottage w Amazing Location and Amazing Hosts

Hands down this is best 1 bedroom cottage find in Bermuda for a couple or 4 people. We rented for a month and loved every minute- even had hurricane but everything up and running in 24 hours. And best hosts( Kilian & Elaine ) we have come across on VRBO- they have it all and give it all- all you need to do is rent it. Location 5 star Host 5 star Cottage Amenities 5 star . The place is simply fantastic. Rent it now before it is not available!! .

Stunning Ocean Views & Excellent Hospitality in Bermuda!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful place in Bermuda. Even our Hitch driver, a lifelong resident of the island, mentioned she had never seen such a stunning view when she picked us up for dinner. The property offers amazing access to the ocean and is impeccably clean. It’s perfect for a group of 3 to 4 people. The host was excellent, providing clear directions and being readily available to help. We didn't need any assistance because the instructions were so precise. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to experience the best of Bermuda.

Great Stay

Very Nice! Great views and sunrise with deck for morning coffee. Interior was comfortable, spacious and well appointed. Centrally located on the island and east to get anywhere, with downtown Hamilton just a few minutes away.

Perfect

What can we say, Saltine surpased our expectations, everything you could possibly need are provided. The cottage itself is to perfection, and the location couldn’t be better. It is centrally located on the island and the water views are fantastic. We got to see the sunrise every morning and lucky for us we were there during the full moon so we also go to see the moon rise. This was our 9th visit to Bermuda, our first was on our Honeymoon in Sept 1984, this time were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary, and it was the best. We used a scooter to explore the entire island during the day, and used taxis to go out to dinner at night. We used Jahdel Rogers for our taxi which was referred to us by Kilian, Jahdel and his girlfriend Tisha were great and highly recommend them. Our only regrets is not getting to enjoy the waters of Hungry Bay, and only meeting Kilian for a short time the day of our arrival, unfortunately Killian and Elaine were flying out that night and would be back before our departure. Due to the fact that we flew in on the heals of hurricane Earl, Kilian assured us that we would be fine and supplied us with some additional battery power lights in case of a power outage, and informed us that there was an emergency generator, which we never needed. The following day it cleared and it was perfect weather for the remainder of our 10 day stay. We highly recommend staying at Saltine for your trip to Bermuda. Thanks Kilian & Elaine for providing such wonderful stay in Bermuda. Brad & Deb

Great location, beautiful views, just book it!

Saltine is a great spot! Conveniently situated in Bermuda- quiet street away from the action but only a short ride into Hamilton or other necessities like grocery stores. We traveled to all corners of the island, so staying here is perfect for being in the middle- nothing is ever more than a 35min scooter ride away. The views and access to Hungry Bay is enviable- after a day out exploring coming back to take an evening swim in the bay was so refreshing. The house has everything we needed to be self-sufficient with meals when needed. Communication with Kilian prior to and during our stay was easy and fast. He provides a detailed guide to the house and to Bermuda. The guest book in the house has loads of pages of recommendations from other travelers and this was really helpful! We did things we didn't know existed based on reading that. We were a couple plus 1 friend, so the space was just right for 3 adults: 1 1/2 baths was perfect and the pull out bed from the sofa was easy and comfortable (for 11 nights). We would absolutely stay here again if we travel back to Bermuda (this was our second trip here).

Amazing Rental

The wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at this property. Great central location for getting around the island. The cottage seemed to be newly remodeled and was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed spending time on the deck watching the tide come in and of the nearly private bay and viewed many beautiful sunsets. Lots or amenities to make you feel right at home. The hosts were extremely gracious in making sure that you had everything you needed both before and during the stay. They provided us with many tips on dining and activities. Would 100% recommend booking Saltine!!

My daughter and I found the perfect spot to explore Bermuda complete with ocean and bay views, modern amenities and centrally located to Hamilton and mid-island so exploring the western and eastern side of the island was easy and a short distance away. You're also minutes away from the acclaimed south shore beaches, which are spectacular. We had numerous picturesque coves all by ourselves during our stay. Kilian and Elaine were very accommodating and really care about the property and their guests. If this property is available, think no more, just book it.
