Cute Cabin
This cabin is very cute and was very clean. Almost everything we needed was provided at the home and we appreciated so much wood for the firepit, which we used constantly due to how cold it was. Had to pick up charcoal, but it was an easy 15 minute drive to town for this. Sadly, the staircase to the lake is not described well enough. It seemed to be one long stair case down, when actually, its 3 very long staircases and crossing a small street. Its not an easy or short distance. The area is beautiful, and very quiet, and it was a nice getaway. I was disappointed there was two chairs in the living area, which made our plans for a romantic getaway difficult (pictures showed a couch) The shower is very small, as well if you are a plus size person. All in all, tho, this is a nice cabin getaway and i would recommend it in the warmer months of the year to an active and athletic couple/family. The owners are very communicative and fast to respond to even the smallest questions. Very friendly, and easy to work with.

Beautiful Accommodations!!
This beautifully intimate cabin is exactly how described by Melissa. The cabin was extremely clean and STOCKED with everything needed (extra towels, linens, cleaning supplies, cooking ware, etc.). The beds were extremely comfortable and each room had its own fan. Although the master bedroom does not have a/c we happened to get lucky during our stay with mild weather and some rain so the room remained cool. But should the weather have been warmer there was plenty of space in the family room to put an air mattress. They also had a fully stocked shed down by the lake full of life jackets, pool noodles, fishing rods and not to mention full access to their kayaks, row and paddle boats. As someone who travels with 3 kids frequently I can honestly say all you need to bring when staying at this location is your personal items and food. Melissa provides everything else. One of my favorite things about this stay was Melissa’s quick response staying from the moment I booked. She was totally transparent and super friendly through messages. When she says there is no cellular service once you get off the highway she is in fact correct so be sure to follow her suggestions to the T. Thankfully there is WiFi which gave a little peace of mind should there have been an emergency. My next favorite thing would have to be the full sized kitchen with gas stove/oven, full size sink, and full sized refrigerator. The kids had such a great time being outside swimming and kayaking in paradox lake!

AMAZING
Great place and so quiet which was big for me. Everything listed is what you get and you will enjoy your stay from the property to the crystal clear sandy lake. Everything you need is there and everything is clean, new and will make your stay perfect. The host were also so great always there when I reached out to them and though I contacted them a lot, they never made me feel like I was a pain. It was my first time using VRBO and it was a great experience from start to finish.

quiet lakeside cottage
This was a cozy little cabin with a picturesque view of the lake. Loved sitting on the screened porch in the morning listening to the orchestra of birds and enjoying the lake view. My two kids and I so appreciated the many amenities - especially the three kayaks. We also made use of the fishing poles and rowboat. This was such a great location, with many things to do close by but the best was just hanging out at the cabin and being at the lake.

Amazing location, beautiful cabin
The pictures in the listing don't do this place justice! The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable. The road was very quiet so the short walk down the stairs to the water wasn't bad at all. We stayed with our dogs and never worried about their safety. The water frontage was amazing. The water is clean, sandy without weeds, and there are cute little rock stairs to get into the water. We absolutely loved this place!

Beautiful cabin
We had such a nice stay at Tamarack cabin. There are beautiful little details in the cabin to make it unique and special. The kitchen table is beautiful! It is also soooo quiet. We stayed for Memorial Day weekend and you could hear a pin drop. We enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boat. There are plenty of life preservers to use! To get to the lake you will need to go down a few long flights of stairs but it’s not too bad. We were about 12 minutes from downtown Schroon Lake so restaurants, groceries, Stewart’s were all easy to get to. It’s also not too far from Fort Ticonderoga so that could be a fun day trip. The area is close to many hiking trails as well. You won’t be disappointed!

Great family getaway in cozy lakeside cabin
We had a great time enjoying Paradox lake at this adorable and equipped cabin! Our host was SUPER friendly and accommodating and had great suggestions for our stay. We have tent camped in the Pharaoh Lake Wilderness many times before and it was so nice to be able to leave “everything but the kitchen sink” behind to accommodate two small kids in this equipped cabin. Kitchen, hot showers, comfy beds, grills, fire pit… Nice views of the lake from the screened porch (which the full sized mattress room is attached to) with your morning coffee! Everything you need. 15 min. To Schroon lake where the grocery, restaurants, Stewart’s (ice cream), laundry, pizza and an adorable movie theater reside. A few miles to the trail heads and gorgeous roads to run/walk on just off Fraternaland. I will say I was surprised at how neighborhoody the residential part of Paradox Lake felt! A few high peaks in North Hudson can be an easy day trip. If you’re adventurous, kayak over to the Peaked Hill trail from Paradox lake. With two small kids, we loved the Stone Bridge and Caves just 25 min. Down rt. 9 and the ICE CREAM is incredible at the turn off to stone bridge road. Don’t miss it if you have kids. Enjoy this cute little cottage!

Communication with owner was easy and effective. The place was well stocked: kitchenware, linens, WiFi (to help search online for things to do in the area even though a binder full of information was already available), etc. The lake is beautiful. You can take an easy stroll in the evenings along the quiet road. Perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of work life.

Beautiful Location
The fall colors were stunning and there was a beautiful view of the lake through the trees. Walk down flight of stairs to reach water. My husband used and enjoyed the kayaks. Sadly no canoe. There was an odor in one of the bedrooms. It is an old cabin but the price is reasonable for the area and Paradox Lake is a very special place to stay. Many hikes in the area.

We have added a canoe since this was written, although their was no mention of one in the description. As far as the odor all I can say is that our cabins are cleaned and sanitized after each guest departs. So, whatever “odor” was present was gone after this guest left.

A great little cabin for a long weekend trip with my family. The kayaks were a huge plus and we probably spent the majority of our time paddling around the lake. The back porch was perfect for hanging out later in the day and enjoying the view.

Perfect cottage
My boyfriend and I have stayed at this perfect little cottage twice this summer. It is quaint, with great proximity to Paradox Lake amongst a lovely lakeside community. It is well equipped and clean. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Peaceful cabin
We love this place! This was our 2nd stay in this cabin on Paradox Lake and it was just as perfect as the first time. It’s great for anyone who wants the quiet, peaceful beauty of an Adirondack lake. It’s a simple cabin but has everything you need. We stayed during quarantine and were able to cook all meals with no issue since we couldn’t go out to eat. It’s close enough to Schroon Lake for shopping and dining, but also is great to just relax on site with the campfire and lake access. There is a beautiful space down by the water that we spent the evening enjoying. I also love the covered porch on the back - so nice to wake up and step out of the bedroom to that room! I would recommend this cabin and hope to return again in the future!

Wonderful long weekend
What a wonderful place. We had originally rented the Yellow cabin, upon arrival it was under construction so Melissa offered us the Green cabin. Having never been to these cabins it made no difference to us. With the beautiful view, the deck on the water we couldn't care less where we slept. The green cabin was great, tastefully decorated, comfortable furniture and beds. We loved the enclosed porch and took turns sleeping out there. I can't think of one negative thing about our stay.

Owner was very quick to respond and accommodate even though we booked only one day in advance. Peaceful nice little cabin in the woods. You don't come here to watch t.v, get out and enjoy the lake. Will definitely be returning!

Paradox Lake is lovely!
This is a very basic little cabin on a really beautiful lake. We spent two nights in October and enjoyed our stay. The only surprise was that we had to share the boats (3 kayaks and possibly a rowboat) with the family of four staying in the neighboring cabin. We found this out only when they talked to us, and there were times when we both wanted to use the boats. We managed to stay warm with the electric space heaters. The kitchen is quite minimally furnished (only two full-sized dinner plates, e.g.) but we did cook for ourselves there and ate at the cozy dining table. Finally, the little love seat pictured on the website was nearly impossible to sit on, as the cushions for the back fall through and leave you leaning against a metal bar. We would suggest replacing it with something usable.

We offer 3 kayaks, a rowboat and now a paddle boat. We do inform guests that there are “shared amenities” that should be considered dirt come, first serve basis. That being said guests should be considerate to one another and we feel that there is enough for all to share. I’m sorry this was not amenable, it’s difficult to make everyone happy, but we continue to add to the amenities to try our best.

Great little cabin
The cabin was perfect! You literally do not need to bring anything but your clothes! Everything was provided. So many extra blankets, pillows and fans. There were plenty of pots and pans of all sizes. Plates, cups, silverware, coffee pot, toaster oven. The beds were comfortable. Everything was very clean. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of and is because I had two young children (age 2 and 4) was there was not much of a back yard area and it was very slanted so they couldn’t play as much. And the stairs!! The stairs to the water was insane. You’ll definitely get your steps in going up and down them there are so many.one thing I would recommend to is maybe update the binder with local shops, diners and things to do as most hung were dated 2006. I looked up some restaurants and they were no longer open. So besides the back yard area being hilly and the stairs to the water it’s still a wonderful cabin and would recommend this place!

Great hidden gem!
We stayed at this great little cottage when we did the Schroon Lake Marathon with our two children (ages 3 yrs and 9 months) as well as our in-laws. Plenty of space for the 6 of us and our 3-year old loved the bunk beds with the star stickers! Used the kayaks one day which were also a big hit with our son. Very easy rental and check-in/out process which we appreciated. Everything we needed for the weekend was waiting for us in the cottage. One note which was not a big deal for us but something to consider - you have to go out on the porch to get to the second bedroom which was very cold overnight and in the morning! Plenty of heaters in the cottage to warm both bedrooms and the kitchen/living area space though! Highly recommend this cottage for a weekend getaway in a beautiful location with great amenities.

Wonderful cabin in the woods next to a lake.
This is a wonderful get away spot! Rustic and cozy cabin on a simply beautiful lake in the Adirondacks. We highly recommend this spot for a couple or a small family. The lake is absolutely beautiful, crystal clear, and a blast to kayak on. The cabin is small and hand built and reflects the care of the owners. The screened porch is a great spot to watch the sun go down and read a good book. Cabin is tucked away in the woods but very accessible to nearby towns. We highly recommend this spot.

Great cottage!
We had a great time at the cabin. Swimming to the raft was fun. It was nice to have the kayaks and rowboat to explore the lake. We paddled to the hike(lake access only) on the northern shore and it was super. It rained overnight and there were hundreds of salamanders everywhere. Our son loved it. Pretty neat experience. Lots of fish in the lake too. The cottage was basic but had what you needed. There was a nice cross breeze for sleeping. Melissa was super reachable which was nice. All in all a great trip. Thanks

Relaxing stay in cozy cabin
Our family had a really nice, relaxing couple of days in the yellow cabin. The lake was great for kayaking, swimming and watching loons. The cabin was, as described, charming and cozy. Our favorite space was the screened in porch overlooking the lake. The kitchen had most things you would need, although if you need a big pot for boiling pasta, you may want to bring one. The stove works well but only does high so we ended up stacking the grills to "lower" the heat. It worked well! Melissa was a fantastic host who always got back to us right away and gave us a great suggestion for a local hike. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful and peaceful!
This cabin was perfect for our getaway in the Adirondacks! We tend to enjoy places that are less crowded, more off the beaten path and this was just what we were looking for! There were enough things to do and places to explore, but also small enough that we could really get away. The cabin was perfect and we felt we had plenty of room. The screened in porch on the back was amazing and we enjoyed sitting out there every morning and evening (when we weren’t by the bonfire). Having access to the lake was nice and we enjoyed the water during the days. We missed this place as soon as we left, and we will definitely be back!
