New beach front property

Welcome to La Vista Del Mar (the view by the sea), where we have two separate studio apartments (The Nest and The Views). Each unit has a queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, couch, TV, wifi, private patios and travel cooler and beach chairs. Property is located on the ocean with private beach entrance, beach shower and spectacular ocean views. Lounge on your private patio or snooze on the beach in one of our several hammocks. Walk along the beach and hunt for sea shells or sea glass. While this is not a swimming beach, the main swimming beach for the town of Patillas is located less than 10 minutes from us.
Each unit accommodates 2 adults comfortably, however, arrangements can be made for a separate bed for a third person.

Fabulous

This place was one of the best short term rentals we have stayed in. The kitchen was very functional- we cooked several meals. A grill was there which also used The view from the patio was fabulous. We spent hours sitting there and enjoying the view. We took advantage of the washer and dryer. Jim and Teresa were fabulous hosts.

Tranquility

Wow!!! What a place. So very beautiful, peaceful, comfortable. I think it must have been one of the best places in Puerto Rico. We absolutely loved it. We stayed in the view ocean side, with my parents in the nest. We enjoyed the noise of the ocean waves and the frogs. Such tranquility. Jim & Theresa were so helpful & accommodating, wonderful host. I'm not sure how we got so lucky, but we enjoyed our stay there better than anywhere we've been. can't thank them enough for everything. Looking forward to staying there again someday. We stayed a week, next time it will be longer.

Relaxation, adventure and rest

Jim and Teresa, were most welcoming and made every effort to provide a perfect environment for our spring Midwest getaway. We were greeted warmly and were made to feel most comfortable throughout our stay. The cleanliness of our suite was immaculate. Every detail within our suite was well planned before our arrival.. The kitchen, bathroom and living space made for a enjoyable and relaxing time there while listening to soothing sounds of the Caribbean Sea at your doorstep. Beautiful location to relax if you enjoy ocean breezes, palm trees, reading in a hammock, walks on the beach, amazing sunrises and beautiful night skies. Jim and Teresa are fantastic host who are determined to make you comfortable and welcome. Looking forward to our next stay.

Hidden gem in Pattilas, P. R.

My wife and I are in our early 70s, staying here for 6 days. The hosts of LaVista del Mar were very sweet and exceptional as was the property and the '"Nest" unit in which we stayed. The hosts reside on the property and were available 24/7 to respond immediately to our needs and information on the local cuisine, places to visit, and general information that proved very useful. Also, the unit was super clean and sanitized. I cannot say enough good things about this property and thoroughly enjoyed getting a true picture of Puerto Rican life, culture, and cuisine.

Location, view, apartment, and hosts were fantastic. No one will be disappointed when choosing this destination. We loved exploring the area as well as simply hanging out enjoying the ocean view. Hosts were super friendly and accommodating.

Perfect Place to Relax and Reset

This trip was the most restful and relaxing trip I have ever taken in my life. Jim and Teresa were the perfect hosts and made us feel welcomed from the moment we booked. The pandemic has been stressful and difficult, and I have not taken a vacation in almost 3 years. I so needed to just relax, rest, and reset, and this was the ideal setting. I have always dreamed of having a beach to myself without having to fight for a place to sit and being able to listen to the ocean without yelling voices and loud music. This was the perfect beach for me as I could sit in complete silence except for the waves and not see anyone in either direction. It was paradise. The unit was clean and functional and just steps from the beach. It had everything we needed for the week. I had planned on taking several day trips, but once I got there, I honestly fell in love with the property so much, I just stayed put and gave my soul what it needed... rest. I came home rejuvenated and ready to take on 2022. We are already ready to book again with Jim and Theresa!

Great Getaway Spot

My wife and I wanted to spend our 20th anniversary at the perfect spot in Puerto Rico. We were SO pleasantly surprised. The Nest was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed. Jim and Tere were amazingly gracious hosts. They were available to answer questions and make sure we didn't need anything. The kitchen had what we needed and anything we would have needed if we were cooking for ourselves. (haha) They made us feel right at home. The beach and view were beautiful. We could just sit and watch (and listen) to the waves roll in. The beach at the property was not ideal for swimming, but it was nice to stroll looking for shells and sea glass. Of course, we also enjoyed Gigi and Lucky, the four-footed hosts as well. They were sweet and "watched our for us" while we were on the property or walking the beach. Fantastic Hosts!

Great stay, exceptionally clean, hosts made you feel like family, only downside here is that you can’t swim on the beach on property due to currents and rocks. Did not know this prior to booking. But hosts were amazing and there are beaches down the road.

Perfect Patillas Romantic Stay

To say this place was a perfect choice still doesn't give it enough credit. Theresa & Jim are a lovely couple. They are warm and inviting. We felt very comfortable and safe. We also hung out with our new little buddies, Lucky & Gigi who guards this little piece of heaven. The homestead consist of 3 or 4 small open studios. We had the view which was ocean/beachfront. (They all are really.) The decor was sweet and romantic yet, has that touch of Caribbean color. It was immaculate. We could dine in or out since the set up afforded us that. We had no reason to leave the rental except to see the rest of Patillas. Everything is fairly close by and very convenient to get to. This may be our new "place to go" for as long as they allow. We'd give it 10 stars if we could. Thanks again to Theresa & Jim Dawn & Steve Caraway Massachusetts

Esto es mas de lo que esperabamos. Excelente comunicacion con los hosts. La ubicacion perfecta. A pesar de la tormenta Laura pudimos disfrutar de nuestra estadia perfectamente. Los duenos mas amables no pudieron ser. El apartamento impecable, tiene justo lo que se necesita para pasarla de maravilla. La vista espectacular con el mar de frente a tu puerta. Se lo recomiendo a ojos cerrados. Definitivo es un lugar que me encantaria volver. Si pudiera darle mas de 5 estrellas le daria 20******. Tere and James, thanks for everything.. .

Perfect location for Puerto Rican saturation

We had the very fortunate opportunity of staying at ‘The Nest’ for an entire week. Most people probably don’t get to submerge themselves on site for as long as we did but I’m so glad we chose to! Jim and Teresa were outstanding hosts and their puppers, Gigi and Lucky were such a delight to have around. The Nest is more isolated than The View and tucked into the backside of the property, which we preferred. We still had our own private area of the beach and patio and they even had separate beach chairs and a cooler they allowed us to take off the property to other beaches. The home itself perfectly suited our needs. It was absolutely perfect for a romantic getaway. Our hosts thought of everything we could possibly need or want. The beach onsite is gorgeous, private and has the most spectacular views. We spent a couple days devoted to lounging and beach combing the shores. Early on, Teresa very sweetly approached us on the beach to lend us some tools in our search for sea glass. Thanks to Teresa’s tips we came back with a whole jar of sea glass! Teresa is the Abuela you wish you had. She shared recipes of local food she made for us, washed our clothes after a soggy hike and I’m certain it was her idea to invite us out to dinner to their favorite restaurant. Jim and Teresa were full of tips and recommendations on where to eat, activities and local must sees. My favorite was Charco Azul, a gorgeous spring and hike within an hour drive from The Nest. We like to saturate ourselves into the local culture so the location of this rental was perfect. About an hour drive to Fajardo and El Yunque. Caguas was even closer. The nearest grocery store is 10 mins away-Pueblo’s in Arroyo. Psssst: they sell alcohol. So many nearby restaurants to recommend: Musafa, Benny’s BBQ, Hechos en Casa-Pikas was fun for a quick drink. Unfortunately we never got to go to the highly regarded Calixtos with our hosts. We’ll forever regret not being able to make our date. Thank you, Jim and Teresa, for being such welcoming hosts and opening up your beautiful home to us! You made us feel like family. It won’t be a trip we soon forget! Give Gigi and Lucky some luvin from us.

A gorgeous place to stay

Don’t second guess, just book it! this place is beautiful! My wife and I stayed here three nights and wish we could stay longer. The property is on the ocean, beautiful palm trees, 180 degree ocean view. Open the windows and listen to the ocean at night. Hunt for sea glass on the beach. Comfortable bed, nicely equipped kitchen, Jim and Theresa are kind and generous hosts. We loved sitting on the terrace watching the waves. Then walking on the shore. Several sandy spots also to enjoy. There are nice hammocks and beach chairs and a cooler provided. Two sweet dogs on property will walk with you on the beach. Restaurant within walking distance. Just a lovely place! We will be back :)

Perfect location for a romantic getaway 🌺

The property is located off of the main road, directly on the beach and situated perfectly to watch both sunrise and sunset over the ocean. The town doesn’t seem to be a big tourist destination, which we loved. The neighborhood was charming and we always felt safe strolling the beach, streets and visiting the local markets. The home is detached from the main property and was meticulously clean. We love to cook and spent a great deal of time cooking in the kitchen and enjoying meals, coffee and cocktails on the beach. There are hammocks set up under the palms. It’s not the best beach for swimming (rocky), but absolutely beautiful for relaxing, reading a book, collecting sea glass, etc. There are several swim-friendly beaches located nearby. We loved every moment of our stay. Jim and Teresa were helpful, accommodating, super-friendly and always available if we needed anything. There is also an extra bathroom located right out the door! We’ll definitely be back!
