Come enjoy the best kept secret in VA and see what SML has to offer! Chateau Relaxeau is at the best location on the lake with breathtaking views of Smith Mountain and easy lake access to many restaurants, marinas, state park hiking trails, kids activities, parks, wineries, etc. There's plenty of space for large groups both indoor and out, 2 large stationary docks and 2 floating docks for enjoying the lake. 20’ and 16’.

The home features a spacious, open floor plan with large windows overlooking the lake providing amazing mountain views. Fully furnished with WiFi, 2 large LED TVs and lots of room for family/friends indoor and out. Provides all of the lake amenities that you could ask for, including 2 Kayaks for your enjoyment, a Raised Fire Pit Patio, Oversized Docks, Private Swimming Area from Floating Dock, Large Decks, Game/Rec Room, Large LED TVs, Foosball Table, Air Hockey table, Skee Ball Machine, WiFi, Washer/Dryer, Boat Anchoring and more!

Upstairs has a large living room with 60" Flat Panel TV, DVD Player, a well equipped kitchen for cooking and eating with large groups, and 4 bedrooms (see bed sizes below). Downstairs has a large Rec Room, Theater Area, Large 75" Flat Panel TV, Foosball, Card Table and 1 additional Bedroom. Both the upstairs and downstairs lead out to large outdoor spaces which are a convenient ways to enjoy the views and lake. Upper deck features 2 gas grills and abundant seating and tables for maximizing time outdoors even during meals.

Amazing!!

Mark and Emily have such a gem of a spot on smith mountain lake!! They are responsive and the house is located in such a great area of the lake. Tip, please get up early and see the beautiful sunrise! The view is incredible!

Ideal place to unwind and enjoy nature

The location on Smith Mountain Lake provided beautiful views from all angles. The property was well maintained, stocked with all the necessities, and had plenty of space for large family gatherings.

Great Lake house

Beautiful view of the lake from a wonderful house that suited our group (2 families) perfectly. We rented a boat from a local marina and tied it up to one of the floating docks and used the other for fishing. Great stay - would definitely come back!

Great Stay!

Had a great time. House was very cozy and had such a great view of the lake. Very quiet area with very little activity on the lake during our stay. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes/cookware and house was very clean. Will be back next year!

Great experience!

We stayed for a long weekend in April 2024. The check in process and communication from Emily before during and after our stay was great! We LOVED the views and the dock was great for our rented pontoon boat. Highly recommend!

Best House on the Lake

Stayed for a long weekend with Family ( 8 adults and 1 baby). This home has the best views of the Lake and the Mountain. It will take your breath away when you first walk into the house. Check in was breeze and the house was exactly as described. The house has so much room for everyone. The dock is the best place to watch the sunrise- beautiful and relaxing! We hope to visit again.

The fun family vacation we all needed.

We had a great time at this beautiful home on the lake. we swam off the dock every day, took walks in the neighborhood and enjoyed the wildlife. Lots of Deer and birds to look at. Wonderful home with a great view.

Summer at SML

The view of the lake from the house is fantastic! We had such a great time using the paddle boards and kayaks. This cove is a great, peaceful location but close enough to the bigger part of the lake if using a boat or jet ski. The house is well stocked and has a variety of games/entertainment. We definitely enjoyed our visit.

Great experience

Everything was as listed, beautiful house and views. We booked the house to spend time with family and friends from out of town. We fished, grilled and had fires at night. Hosts were great and replied quickly when we had questions. It was a wonderful weekend at this house.

Awesome house and location

We had a full house with 5 generations and everyone had a great time. The kids enjoyed the games as well as swimming right at the dock and making s'mores at the fire pit. The house had everything we needed and then some. Almost like being at home. If the opportunity arises we will stay there again.

SML- Vacation 2024

The property is AWESOME! The property was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The location was perfect, tucked away in a cove, which make it wonderful for our young grandkids to swim without boat traffic. the decks and docks made if perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks. Would recommend this location to all and would stay here again.

Great view & Great for Families

We had a very relaxing stay with an amazing view of the lake. It was so relaxing. The game room was a wonderful asset for the children and the outside amenities were very nice to have as well. Lake Getaway

If you are looking to getaway for a relaxing vacation, then this is the place. The home is just as described in the listing. The sunrise/sunset lake views are amazing! There is plenty to do inside and outside of the house. There is plenty of room for everyone to sleep. The kitchen is fully stocked with all of the pots, pans, plates, and utensils you'd need. Our host was very responsive. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend!

Everything was as described in the listing. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed for our family meals. The parking was perfect for all of our vehicles. Christmas Trip for 2023

Our family takes a trip every spring as our Christmas present to each other. This is the second year we’ve gone to a mountain area and this house was by far the best! There was so much room both inside and out for us all to be together or have some time alone. My niece and nephew loved the game room! The property could not have been more beautiful. The house is gorgeous. I can’t say enough things about how wonderful our short trip was.

Fantastic House

We have been staying at houses on SML for over 20 years. This is by far the best experience we have had. I house has lots of space a great open common area upstairs and the basement setup with the games and big screen was a giant hit with the kids, 8 to 16. The docks are perfect, water clean and deep off the docks. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful family celebration!

All 8 of us and the dog were extremely comfortable and soothed by the beauty of this house and its comfort. Awakening to the sun rising over the ridge behind the trees was a special treat. Everything was well equipped and maintained. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and several other meals for the whole family! And the home's flow and set up allowed for family games and my husband's BIG birthday celebration...room to be together or to enjoy the view or walk around the area. Sooo many birds and deer! Our grandson is ready to come back with his friends in the summer since they all like to go fishing.

Family Fun for Everyone!

One of the most beautiful views of the lake. So many spaces for gathering. Such a private feel. 60th wedding anniversary with 14 people and a few pups staying at the house and 2 more drop ins for 4 days and we never felt like we were on top of each other. Even played Hoopla with all 16 in the main living space and we still had room for the pups. Well equipped kitchen. Never lacked for anything. A fantastic experience. Hoping to do it again next year!

Photos can’t capture the beauty

This home in my opinion is on the most beautiful portion of the lake. I could not tell from the maps when choosing the home, but the mountain and lake view are spectacular. We had everything we needed in the kitchen for large family meals. The neighborhood was very safe and peaceful for morning walks. We brought our own pontoon and had adequate trailer and truck parking to the right of the house along with four other cars. It was 50 minutes to Liberty for graduation, but the drive was worth it. We had a great family weekend. I highly recommend this home.

Absolutely Fantastic!!

What a great time! My family and I enjoyed the lake access and house with so many amenities. The house is well-stocked, appealing, and clean. Sunrise and sunsets became a celebration of beauty with such breathtaking views and the perfect backdrop for countless pictures! Throughout our stay, our daughters enjoyed a variety of activities, both inside the game room and outside with access to kayaks and paddle boards on the property. Needless to say, there wasn’t a dull moment in a setting with so many options and a drivable radius to other activities in the area. Although we were a distance from Bridgewater Marina, the drive was pleasant and scenic. If you own a boat or have a rental, the docks will be perfect! Also, the simple beauty of the panoramic landscape was thoroughly enjoyed on our bike rides to nearby Vista Pointe without the concern of heavy traffic. Since this was my first VRBO experience, I was impressed by the hosts who are so accommodating and responsive. As my family reflects on our stay for the week, the experiences are now sweet and lasting memories.
