5 stars for the right people needing the right accommodations
I perceive we were the first group to stay here this season, with the last known reviews/comments from October 2023. We rented it to house 5 people for a few days to prepare for a memorial services 12 miles away. We needed to not only be together to process the moment but also to prep sandwiches for the service. The property served us well.
This place is ideal for families. It would house two couples each with two kids well. The upstairs area is probably better for kids than parents. I would send all the kids up there to play on rainy days. I'm tall at 6'2" (188cm), and it was right at the maximum of a comfortable space for me.
The house is not glamorous in any way. It's just a relatively roomy Maine house that looks small on the outside that is clean and has enough design accents to not feel shabby. That is probably what most people staying here would want.
If you're uptight and want to find flaws in things, you will here. You're better off going somewhere else. For example, the waterfront does not have a clean trail to it. You have to be willing to step over seaweed and rocks, which will keep some older people or those living with certain disabilities from going down to it. But you have great sunsets from the house and porch!
The only issue we had was that the water had sat in the hot water heater for long enough to need to be flushed out. It had a strong odor to it at first. I don't think others will have this problem now that it's in service for the season.
