"The cottage is fine and it is in a nice location BUT the details of the cottage listed on the Expedia website and Sykes Cottages are different and misleading. Expedia shows the cottage to be within the Penzance city centre & 8 minute walk from the ferry terminal. The cottage is 8 miles (13 kms.) from the Penzance city centre. "The setting was perfect, the description of a woodland retreat was spot on. We loved sitting gazing out at the squirrels playing in the trees and were lucky enough to have them come up to the door and peer in. "We had a wonderful stay at Mount View Hotel and would highly recommend it. The free parking for guests was a huge bonus and something we really appreciated. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing, with a great selection and everything was delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and efficient, always happy to help with a smile. The hotel's location is also excellent, making it easy to explore Penzance and the surrounding attractions. We felt very comfortable throughout our stay with our family. The value for money is outstanding and hard to beat. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely be back!"

"Unfortunately there was no air-conditioning in our cosy double. However, on mentioning this, a staff member produced a second larger fan, which sorted the problem. Breakfast menu was very good. Cooked breakfasts well presented. Husband missed Granola! Waitresses lovely. Coffee machine a good one. Views from restaurant beautiful. Good location for everything, including public transport."

"I found the facilities clean and in good shape. However, some fans from neighbours rooms were too noisy for the entire night, affecting the quality of my sleep. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. A small disappointment about the fact that Hotels.com presented the room with bathtub, while in fact I got a room with shower only, and there was no availability for swapping it. Overall, a good hotel."

"Fantastic location right on the seafront and an easy stroll to the town centre. Breakfast was top-notch with both cooked English and continental choices. A special shoutout to the team: if you have an early start and miss breakfast, they will prepare a packed takeout breakfast for you. That is real hospitality and going above and beyond! The staff offered great local tourist advice, and the bar was pleasant, friendly, and well-stocked. Don't miss out on the food either—their pizza was one of the best I’ve ever eaten. Would definitely stay again!"
