Beautiful lodgings with multiple amenities!

Fabulous Family Gathering Spot

We stayed with our adult children for 3 nights exploring the area. The weather was unexpectedly stormy but didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the property. Probably the best equipped place we’ve stayed, we appreciated all the amenities. Thanks so much, Emma, for your gracious hospitality.

Fiftieth wedding anniversary family get away

We had an excellent experience at the Bauman’s Hillside Hideaway. It was spacious enough to accommodate our large family. The fireplace and fire pit were great additions to add to our visit. The game room had something for everyone.

Special Weekend with Extended Family

We came in town for a short weekend, as a group of 14. Plenty of room for all of us and lots of activities for all ages. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you could need. We are already talking about returning to this property, or the neighboring one. Thanks, Emma for your hospitality!

For the last four years, Bauman’s Hillside Hideaway has been our top choice for family vacations. Each visit is filled with memorable moments enjoying the fantastic amenities like the pool, sand volleyball court, outdoor kitchen, and fire pit. This year marks our 16th family vacation, and some of our dearest memories come from our recent stays at Bauman’s Hillside Hideaway. The house is fully stocked, so we only need to bring food and drinks. It's a wonderful experience in a gorgeous home and setting. Excitedly, we have already secured our booking for 2025!

So Much Fun!

Emma, thank you so much for the hospitality! The Hillside Hideaway had every person in our group raving about how cool the property was! If you’re looking for a comfortable fun spot to enjoy with family and friends, this is the one! We had a blast here for our wedding weekend and are already planning on when we can come back! Funnest House this Side of the Mississippi

Hillside Hideaway is everything you could ever want in a vacation rental property. Our family enjoyed the pool most of all, all our kids LOVED the giant sandbox/sand volleyball court. Our middle child learned to play poker and dominated the adults suckered into his games. I, the wife, had plenty of cooking space in the kitchen for the countless hours I spent doing what I love; cooking for family/friends. My husband greatly appreciated the washer and dryer, as he did laundry as much as he possibly could!

A beautiful and cozy hidden gem

This spot offers everything that you can ask for and more. We celebrated a 40th birthday with 8 couples but it is also ideal for families with children of all ages. There are endless entertainment options both indoor and outdoor. Emma is great to work with as well. She is very informative and helpful from before we arrived and even while we were there. We had one small issue, however, she was there within minutes and the issues was resolved. We scheduled the Ste. Genevieve Trolley to pick us up and drop us off at the house for the winery tour throughout the beautiful wine country. Would highly recommend this as well. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and entertainment.

Perfect!!

THIS PLACE! I honestly can’t say enough about how amazing this home was. And the owners! They missed nothing. Every comfort and amenity that you could think of was available and provided. If you’re looking to get away for a family vacation, an adult trip, just a weekend with your spouse, 💯% recommend. My family of 12 (ages 8mo to 43) had so much fun with the ping-pong, pool table, the pool, outdoor kitchen with smoker, horseshoes, badminton and fire pits with s’mores, listening to the whole stereo system and just focusing on being present and having fun. The beds were comfortable. The pool was very warm. The kitchen has everything you need. Literally everything was top notch!

The best stay!

We stayed here with a group of 11 girls for my sister’s bachelorette party and it was absolutely perfect - exceeding ALL expectations. The entire place was spotless. The inside had everything you would possibly need, in a very organized and easy to find manner. It has the coziest vibe with plenty of room for gatherings and games of all kinds. The outside area is unbelievable. We utilized the fire pit area, pool and hot tub. If we were there longer we also would have loved to play sand volleyball. We visited local wineries while we were there, and although they were fabulous as well, we were mostly excited to get back to the house to hangout! The host has seriously thought of everything you need for a comfortable and successful stay! They are so personable - leaving snacks and drinks of your preference. We would absolutely recommend this place!

Our large family (30+) spread out over both properties recently. Each property was clean, well-supplied, the kitchens were organized and even the drawers labeled. Every need was throughtfully anticipated and our large family enjoyed our stay immensely. It's a deligthful place with many activities set up and available for immediate use - like the swimming pool, sand volleyball court, even sprayers to keep you cool on hot days alongside the pool, billiards and pingpong tables, games - you get my drift. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The beds were very comfy. The log construction on the interior of the home is beautiful, and the entire property is welcoming and comfortable. Anna was available when needed via text or phone, and greeted us when we arrived and familiarized us with the property. The industrial-sized stove and dishwashers also came in handy with our large crew. PS The coffee was really good too!

Amazing Property - Everything In One Place

Property was amazing as were the hosts. We stayed for a week and had family and friends over the course of the week. It was a perfect venue with a large kitchen to gather with anything you could possibly need (including a drawer full of spices in case you forgot something ;), a game room for hanging/playing games, and the living room has a large TV and surround sound with a huge sofa so we enjoyed watching a movie or two. There is a Sonos sound system that covers every area of the property which was awesome since we do enjoy our music! The outdoor amenities are THE GREATEST. It was winter, so couldn't enjoy to the fullest but can imagine what a score in good weather. We used the awesome firepit, horseshoe pit and hot tub! The outdoor bar is a great space, but it was just too cold to be far from the fire. Same for the lighted volleyball pit but there is so much attention to detail in all of the amenities. Everything was easy and comfortable. The hosts were super attentive and helpful. Thank you, Emma!

A great spot for a family getaway

Everything you need for a wonderful weekend. Between the game room, the pool and the sand, our grandkids wore themselves out. Great outdoor kitchen for easy mealtimes. Emma's thought of all the things that make this a relaxing place to atay.

Beautiful, relaxing stay!

Endless opportunities for activities (games, etc.). Warm refreshing pool (even in October!) Emma was very sweet and helpful - awesome recommendation on the coffee shop! Outdoor kitchen area was nice. All areas of the home were extremely clean. Being able to log in speaker system was a definite plus. Enjoyed the back yard spaces, which were together yet separated for various activities. Secluded and private. Beautifully decorated.

Great Family Getaway

This is our second time staying here and we love it! The kids and adults both enjoy the pool and hot tub, as well have having our annual ping pong tournament and sand volleyball games. S’mores at the fire pit is a great way to end the night. The cabin has all the amenities/supplies you will need for your trip. We will definitely be back!

Great family vacation!

Our family recently stayed at Hillside Hideaway. We ranged in age from 5 to 75! This is a great place to stay. The house, pool, outdoor kitchen, sand court, hot tub all were wonderful. Emma is great to work with and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need. This is our second stay and we hope to be back again next year!

This place was fabulous - the kitchen had plenty of dishes, cookware, appliances, spices. Lots of games available to play. Bathroom well stocked with things like toilet paper, cotton balls, q-tips, hand soap, hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Very thoughtful touches if you were traveling with 2 year olds. Pool was awesome. Our family wants to plan to stay here again!
