Ignored by the staff. Musty and dirty smell in hall ways. No window in room just a curtain pretending to be a window. Toilet was missing the top. Bathroom super hot.
Wouldn’t come back or recommend to anyone

We slept in a double room with fan, could literally not breath!! Was so famous and hot, terrible air quality. Will not recommend this place, you can find better places for 1$ more!
I booked for 2 nights ( private room with fan / shared bathroom, ) & extended for 3rd night through Expedia - cheaper than booking directly at hostel. Room a bit stuffy but OK if you leave door open with fan on for awhile before turning in for the night.
Great location - not far from bus stop, half a block to river& lovely wide river walk park, Lots of good eating options close by , walking distance to Royal Palace / Silver Pagoda, shopping , spas , market etc. Loved Phnom Penn. Light Aerobics group at sunset on river walk at end of street. Fun to watch or join in. ‘MUST Do’ tours - Killing Fields of Choeung Ek. &. Prison museum of Genocidal Crimes.
THE STAFF ARE REALLY KIND AND CONSIDERATE.THEIR ENGLISH IS VERY GOOD.THE ROOMS DO THE JOB AND ARE CLEAN.THE FOOD AND DRINKS ARE REASONABLY PRICED.THE PLACE IS CLOSE TO THE POPULAR PLACES.
We got the double room at the end of the corridor called R3. When we first got there the door had been open and it seemed alright. But there was no ventilation whatsoever in the room (no window either). With the door closed the air was stagnant and very humid and everything in there became moist. The worst part though was the very strong smell of mold. It smelled SO bad that every time we came back into the room we would gag a little bit. In the evening the shared bathroom smelled very moldy as well, but in the morning when they had clean it and sprayed with something it smelled fine. I don't know if we were unlucky with that room, maybe the others are better if they have some kind of ventilation. But we got out of there as soon as possible in the morning and moved to another hotel. I have never been in a room that smells this disgusting. When the manager is not there the staff are sleeping and not taking food orders, which they were suppose to serve all day long.
Arrived at the hotel, greeted by friendly Australian owner.
Once room was made up, we were given access but the room was damp with very stagnant air.
You could smell the mold and the whole room, bedding, pillows etc was damp.
Asked for a change of room as my partner has a chest infection, was told there was no rooms spare (despite being more available to book online)
We had no choice but to check out again and pay for somewhere else.
We were scheduled for 2 nights, literally only left our bags in the room for a couple of hours.
Owner apologised that he couldn't be more helpful and said goodbye.
Didn't get a refund on the second night (despite their 24 hour cancellation policy)
Stayed across at the new hotel opposite, very comfortable, very clean and very friendly.
All was ok, except wifi wasn't working at all for the night we stayed which really didn't help two backpackers that were planning on using the night to plan their next couple of days in the area.

Trevlig, men något loj personal. saker tog tid. T.o.m. för att vara i kambodja. Stort plus dock för närheten till riverfront och bra mat. Lokal som väststandard.

Average hostel stay
The location was good, but the stay was just ok. Our bathroom shower and door were both broken, lots of noises at night. A/c was good, wifi was poor. The room was clean and spacious. Overall, what I guess we expected for the price.
Accommodation is good. Tour bookings and other things are expensive if you do from here.

There are better ones...
Definitely not what expected. For some reason there are a few good review of this place, giving it a total score of 4/5 in hotels.com so we decided to give it a try, even though the price for a double room with no amenities as tv, freedge, etc was the same as nearby hotels with much more to offer.
We booked a private room for 2 with air condition and private toilet. Room was big (no windows), toilet was also big. But there was sand on the bed. And lots of little ants walking all over the place, even the bed! (Not bed bugs, and this ants did not stung us, but where quite annoying) Also air cond made a lot of noise!! So we complained and they brought us some fans (ended paying air condition price for a fan room). Next morning we had to do some urgent paperwork at embassy, and owner said he would address issues and offered us a slightly cheaper room. Double bed, air condition, no windows, no tv, shared bathroom. This room was smaller but ok. No ants (just 2 bees and 1 cockroach) Air cond did no noise, but temperature could not be regulated. Owner later explained that the remote controller had been lost (why didn't he said that before?). No internet at all since midday till we left next morning. Very disappointing as we had to book bus tickets and hotels for our next length of our trip and it. When asked for solution they said go to a restaurant or bar and buy something they will give you wifi password. Only 2 dollars discount when we refused to pay at check out.

Good location & friendly staff
The hostel is located in a great area where you can easily walk to the waterfront and explore Phnom Penh. The hostel bar & common area had a great vibe with people hanging out & watching sports. I enjoyed the cheap beer and complimentary bar nuts to munch on. We stayed in the double room downstairs which had working AC & was clean but there was a weird smell in the morning and you could hear the music from the bar until around midnight. The room is good value and perfect if you want your own space in a social hostel atmosphere.

Hostel un peu vieux mais propre et bien placé.
Hostel un peu vieillissant et sans charme. mais hostel propre.
Hamish, the owner is so helpful. Our friend got sick and Hamish helped him get to the foreigner hospital. Especially in a foreign country, it's very comforting to receive advice from a seasoned traveller of Cambodia. The staff are friendly, and funny... They love a good joke! Breakfast is also delicious and affordable. I really enjoyed my time at this hostel! Side note, there's no TV in the private rooms, but you should be out exploring anyways =)
