Call VRBO If You Need Support
I found out minutes before check-in time that there was no electricity at the property (on a 100-degree day). The host offered only a delayed and unhelpful response on the booked date of arrival (i.e., two hours after check-in time, they offered one night at an alternate location, but I would have to check-out by 11am the next day, and wouldn't know if/where accommodations might be available for the remaining three days of my stay). I made alternate arrangements with VRBO support. The host and I had the following communication via text on the scheduled date of check-in:Host: Please confirm if you agree [to one night at alternate site] or prefer the full refund.Me: Refund.Manager: Yes VRBO contacted me already.But when I contacted the host (who is identified as a Premier Host on VRBO) 9 days later because my payment(s) had not yet been refunded, the host initially refused a refund because they said they never received a cancellation notice. After a text argument requiring 9 responses from me (including repeatedly referring to the above text communication), the host finally responded that "the full refund has been issued."It was a cute property, but if you run into any problems, don't expect any help from the host.
