Great Large House

Great large house with separate areas to allow everyone to have their space and to still be able to host large dinners and a baby shower! Great communication and flexibility with the owner.

Will definitely be returning!

This is a great home to allow for family togetherness and entertainment but affords enough space that you’re not all on top of each other. The back yard is like your very own oasis! Definitely recommend for large groups!

A great time was had by all

My family and I had the best week ever at the Hope Street Retreat. The property and furnishings were just as pictured. Between the home movie theater, game room, and pool we had a blast. Didn’t want to leave. We are a family of 16 and this is the first rental property that had everything we needed to cook and enough dishes and glasses for all of us. Even the beds are comfortable. Many rentals have terrible mattresses, but not here. Great place for a large family or group.

Relaxing location in Phoenix, AZ

This is a very beautiful and relaxing place to stay. You are not very close to the center of Phoenix, but I quickly realized the difference this gives you. You get a very peaceful home to spend time in. You are also very close to several highly rated restaurants. If you have a baby, you can purchase the additional child package which gives you a baby bed, a pack and play, a stroller, and I believe a child gate for the top of the stairs. Ours is still crawling so we didn't have a need for the child gate since we never let him near that area anyway. Usually we have to make do with a pack n play to sleep in while traveling, it was great for our baby to have his own bed to sleep in. Clean house, accommodating host and peaceful beautiful location.

Perfect for Family!

We had 14 adults and 1 baby stay in this home for 5 days. It was PERFECT for a large family. There are two master bedrooms - one upstairs and one down - both with master bathrooms (double sinks and huge showers!!). We had 7 couples and everyone had more than enough bedroom and bathroom space. The heated pool is a huge bonus - we were swimming in the evening when it was a little cooler but we stayed warm. Great for kids who get cold in the water when the sun goes down. Also - the backyard would keep children entertained for hours between the pool and the playground. The homeowner was very welcoming and accommodating. We had to have some stuff delivered before our stay and he was able to have that arranged. He also called and texted me upon my arrival to make sure we had everything we needed!! Also - traveling with an 8 month old - we didn't have to bring a stroller, playpen or high chair - all were included with the home which was so convenient and really saved us lugging all of that stuff through the airport! Highly recommend!! We will stay here again!

Tired Property with Potential

This place has much potential and it’s obvious it had its glory days. The pictures posted in VRBO are dated sadly. Owners need to spend some time fixing what’s broken (the dryer, the hot tub (both very much needed!) and the keurig are examples. Most remote controls (except one or two) needed new batteries. There were not enough towels nor any washcloths anywhere. The shower curtains all have pink mildew at the bottom so need to be removed and cleaned. If the dryer would have heated lack of extra towels would not have been much of a problem. But the whole time we could not dry any of our laundry. The game room is very cool but literally none of the battery operated games worked. The air hockey table is a hazard- we worried it would fall over plus it didn’t turn on. The movie room is amazing! Please leave instructions for others on how to operate the projector and such though! Luckily we had one tech savvy member with us who figured it out but still needed our own ROKU app because the remotes didn’t work at all upstairs. The ice maker said the filter needs replaced. Water trickled out so we had to buy bottled water. Our family loved Arizona, and loved this neighborhood. But honestly The Hope Street Luxury Retreat needs some tender loving care put back into it.

Nice location, nice home

Property was nice. Could use a few repairs but nothing that functionally affected our stay, mostly cosmetic. (Loose towel bars, patio ceiling damage, etc.) The owner was very responsive and accomodating when we called, even when it was our lack of knowledge!Appliances worked well and were clean. It can take a minute or so to get hot water to the kitchen and west bathroom. All was good once we knew this.Plenty of parking - we had several extended family members that live in the area over one evening, got 14 vehicles parked off the street.Pool and hot tub were pleasantOverall, it is a nice place. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great house for a private resort-like stay for friends

We had a group of 14. We loved the pool and outdoor space. The games room and movie room were a fun option. 7 bedrooms gave each couple a private room. The enormous kitchen was perfect for at home meals. The host was very responsive and we had no issues at all.Location is fine as long as you have a car. Mesa is quite sprawling so you need to drive or uber to get anywhere. This was fine for us as we all enjoyed our pool days at the house.Thanks for a great time Hope Street Retreat!

Reconsider before making reservations

This property was NOT ready for our family who was in town for a wedding. Issues:*Pool was not heated (apparently broke) this was a question before I booked and I was reassured it was heated.* Pool was dirty * Patio furniture destroyed by weather* Yard toys destroyed by weather* 18 people were booked to stay at the house For and entire week. . One roll of toilet paper in each bathroom with no back ups.* Popcorn machine was filthy with old kernels and oil in it. Door falling off.* Movie theater chairs torn and falling apart.* 12 towels in the entire house* No extra blankets or pillows for pullout beds.* Bed descriptions do not match what is in listing.* Light fixture in master bath downstairs falling from the ceiling * Pictures missing from walls but nails still visible* Kitchen is not stocked with supplies to cook for large families. The cheapest small appliances and supplies are left in there. 99 cent store items would be an upgrade. This may sound crazy but when you are trying to host and cook for that many people having supplies is important. The owner did attempt to order some of the missing essentials which arrived from Amazon in boxes during our stay. He did have a lady try to fix the pool but that never happened. I feel the owner was trying to accommodate but all of these issues really impacted our stay. This is such a beautiful house that has just not been taken care of.

Fun stay

The houses space was great! The pool and orange trees were the best. Overall cleanliness was not great. One mattress in an upstairs room was not good. No dish cloths or wash cloths, we found that strange! We did totally enjoy our stay! Great response from the owner when we needed anything! (Early check in and a pack and play.)

The property was great for a large group/gathering! Lots to do and keep different personalities entertained. The property was clean and organized. The downside was multiple scorpions that were found. One of our guests was stung in the early morning hours in the forehead by a scorpion.

So spacious!

This property was perfect for our weekend away celebrating our bride to be. The heated pool, cabanas, and hot tub were a relaxing way to spend our time, or the game room and movie theater room! The beds and bathrooms were all very clean. Now trying to find excuses to book this location again in the future, would highly recommend!

Hope Street Retreat

Overall the house was great. We had a large group of 6 couples and the house was large enough for everyone to have their own space or all be together. The kitchen was well appointed though a couple of items would have been appreciated - washcloths and larger pots/pans. Some of the carpeted areas showed wear and a number of the games in the game were not working during our stay. The pool area was great as was the hot-tub. The backyard was large enough to play bags in a couple of areas and the covered gazebo was large enough for our entire group. The property manager was great! When we had a question he was quick to reply. We had an issue with the outdoor grill on our first day and he was quick to repair it the following morning. The house is in a quiet area yet close to grocery and other stores. We learned from a neighbor that the variety of oranges grown in the neighborhood are the best and not available outside the area... I can't verify that but the oranges were great!
