Charming cottage

Charming property in Pickering. Steps from Pickering centre and ten minutes from Pickering castle and train station. Great property for a family vacation. Pickering is a convenient base for day trips to North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks and Whitby and Scarborough.

Great location but needs repair

The house served our needs for a week. Positives are location in the centre of Pickering, a well-stocked kitchen (albeit awkward moving around the table to sink and dishwasher), renovated bathrooms (only one shower). The place was generally clean. However, I would not recommend staying until the severe damp has been remediated. The two front rooms and hallway had damp crawling up the walls. Clearly, an attempt to paint over it had been made in the past, but it needs professional renovation. There is a moldy smell on both floors. If it hadn't been for that, the place was great. We would have liked more than 2 toilet rolls to be provided, and some paper towel, but these are small comments. We did tell host and stay about the damp.
