We figured the nice pictures along with the price meant this was a legit rental and we were in for a surpise!!
We arrived around 9pm to a hot house. My husband did some investigating and realized the thermostat needed batteries, so then we just waited for the a/c to ice the whole house. We checked every door and window to make sure they were sealed and locked, and the kitchen sink window was closed and unlocked. My husband had to work at it to get it to shut correctly so he could lock it. The front door has a keyless entry which works fine and the bottom knob that is wiggly and can just come off with the bare minimum force.
The doors on this house need to be replaced, the patio door serves no purpose but to seal off the outside. We felt so exposed because of how old the door is. This house can be easily broken into.
We had to lift the bathroom door up in order to close it. How annoying is that during vacation??
The master bed was comfy except it sinks on one side so my husband didnt sleep well for the 3 days we were there.
The upstairs bigger bed was floppy. Like the bed legs were about to break, so we vacated that room. If we had more family with us, that wouldve been a huge problem but because we didnt use all the rooms, we let it be.
The one saving grace was the water pressure. At least we had cold and hot water to shower. The house was modernally decorated and clean like it shows in the pictures.
If you don't mind creaking floors, creaking stairs, small bedrooms with hit or miss beds, and easy forced entry doors then consider this place.
But geez, with the amount of money we spent per night here, thinking we'd found a unicorn in Pine Mountain, we are extremely disappointed.
We messaged the hosts with all problems and never heard back from them.
We will just cut our losses and never come back.
Renter's beware....
