"I celebrated a milestone birthday at Shadow Sands Villa in May (2025). My experience was nothing short of amazing, from the first contact in 2022 until we left the property earlier this week. "This home was absolutely amazing. The location was perfect. The pool was very refreshing. All the beds were very comfortable. I don't have one bad thing to say about our stay. It is close to several good restaurants, and getting to the local towns is super-easy.The house is perfect for families (we are a family of 5, including 3 teenage boys). "We stayed at Mariposa when we arrived to Placencia and the last night before we returned home and it was perfect. Gladis was very welcoming at the reception, Donny was amazing at the restaurant and all the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bungalow was perfect for our family of 4, since they have bunk beds. The restaurant was good with a nice view of the ocean. They have nice swings, volleyball court, paddle boards and bicycles which is perfect to go in town. It’s less than 5 minutes drive from Placencia airport. The only thing is the ocean has so much seaweeds that it wasn’t nice to go in the water. Which is fine since we didn’t stay at this hotel for the ocean but just be aware that this strip of the island gets a lot of seaweeds…"

"We had an amazing time at Sirenian Bay. We stayed in the off season which made it feel like we had the whole resort to our selves at times. Everyone was so kind and helpful. There were people maintaining the grounds at all times which shows they really care about their little slice of heaven. The food was super fresh and always delicious.
