Lake Cabin with Fantastic View--Kayak, Swim or Fish

"Overall the Cabin was nice and the photos are accurate. We would stay there again. That said, I think there are a few things people sure be aware of before booking. First, is that if you are looking for a house on a lake where your kids can swim all day, this is not the place for you. The lake was created via a Dam and the water is very low. The "Shoreline" is a concrete ledge and the area from that ledge to where the water actually starts in full of concrete and weeds and all sorts of things really make you wonder what is underneath the water. You could maybe swim off the end of the dock and not have to worry about touching anything on the bottom but the water is so low I don't think you could get back up on to the dock again. We did not feel safe swimming there. However, it was just a short drive from Lake Sylva Recreation area which I highly recommend. Also, if your child is deathly afraid of dogs or bugs I would recommend you look elsewhere. The inside was great but nature is nature outside and the front door always had a few daddy longlegs, spiders, and 1 very interesting praying mantis that made entry and exit tricky. In addition there were 2 dogs that came down to see us each night when we were having a fire. No clue where they came from and they were well behaved good boys who went back home the minute we started putting the fire out, just and FYI for anyone who might not be so happy to see a furry friend. Still overall a good stay."

"The only issue with the hotel was their coffee was like water. We it was mentioned, all the said was they didn't handle the coffee pot. It was an outside vendor. Then they should have made coffee for their guests."

"We loved so much about the property and the location. It was secluded and has such a beautiful view. The driveway is approx .25 miles which gave us a private area to get a quick morning walk up and down a few times and I didn't have to walk on the road. (I love rural areas but there are never any sidewalks.) The house is so cosy and comphy. The TV and internet were very nice. Looked like they had a lot of games and books if anyone was needing that. Lots of room! It was so very close to everything! The visitor center was nearby and they were very helpful in instructing us on going on all of the trails. The Mather lodge was very close and had great food and views and we watched the sunset there each night. We drove to Morrilton for groceries and ate at Colton's steakhouse; very delish. I would definitely recommend this beautiful home"

"We spent a full week in this cabin...and..absolutely loved it!! It's nothing fancy. But..it's cozy!! The shower is small..but..doable!! We did meet the owner...and..he is going to start remodeling. The cabin itself was very clean!! Kendra is a sweetheart!! Very peaceful!! And...great location for the park!!"
