"By far our favourite hotel on this trip. We stayed for a week and did not want to leave. Excellent amenities including jacuzzi, sauna, gym, and pool, all at no extra charge. Several dining room options (albeit expensive). Front desk staff were very knowledgeable and helpful (shoutout to Daniel who was very kind to us!). The breakfast selection was excellent. The grounds are expansive and very beautiful. Excellent view over Funchal. Room was cleaned rigorously every day (including vacuuming!) and quiet overnight. It was perfect for our honeymoon, and we would absolutely stay here again. As only one potential point of suggestion for a 5-star hotel, we would have appreciated a 24/7 tea bar at no extra charge."

"Reid’s is a beautiful property with multiple pools and diving access to the ocean. Our stay involved changing rooms ( not the hotels fault), and not all rooms are the same. The first room had a walk in shower but the second room had a very slippery tub shower. There was construction going on during our stay that made for noisy afternoons. The food was really good and there are multiple restaurants, however, I would reserve a table in advance of your stay to guarantee your spot at dinner. The service was exceptional."

"Really good hotel. Great value for money. The hotel is a lot quieter than the hotel next door and you're able to use the facilities at the other hotel, win win! "Lovely hotel, with great sea view rooms. We had premium All inclusive which was well worth it for the al carte breakfast and additional nights at the restaurants. Swimming pools are great, mostly couples there, a few young children as not a child friendly hotel really. It's 4 euros to play pool for an hour, which is fair. One critisim is the number of flies and bugs. At the buffet/drink stations there are a lot of flies, with cakes/lemons/honey left out. It was a bit off putting, however it was always cleaned if something left out / causing the issue. We did get a lot of bites at night as well, including inside and mostly around ankles and feet - take bug spray. The shuffle service to Funchal isn't worth it, better to get an uber if a couple, can come and go as you please and the same money, choose CR7 as the drop off point. Lots of vegetarian options in the buffet also and proper drinks brands served. Entertainment was okay, mostly live music."
